New to this tea
First go of mate, and this is pretty great. No idea if it's better or worse than any other mind you! The suggested ratio of tea to water is pretty hardcore, I had to reduce it dramatically to meet my taste. And the taste? Nothing quite like it. It starts off tasting like a high tanin green tea, then on the second sip you get deep flavours and smoke, almost like an agave based spirit. The caffeine is interesting, it doesn't smack you like coffee, it's subtle but equally strong. The package is enormous really, with my weaker taste it should last a while!

Bold, earthy, and energizing. Pajarito is a staple for yerba enthusiasts. Perfect for seasoned drinkers, but approachable enough for beginners. Reliable, authentic, and satisfying - this mate never disappointed me!

One of the better mild Yerba mate variants
Firstly... The tempreture... Manufactures packaging states 70c Amazon image shows 82c! Depending on the heat, you will get a diffence in taste. I bought this for its alleged smoke flavour... I personally find it to be very lightly smoked. Taste is pretty good. Lift is mediocre and beware of using the high ratio recommended on the packaging. A ratio of 50g to 500ml may cause unwanted bowel movements (like some may experience with very high caffinated coffee). I drink a lot yerba each day to get me through long distance night driving. It is better than coffee as there are no highs and lows... Just a constant, steady state of awareness and energy. For keto diet etc... Be aware. There are 10g carbohydrate per 50g serving 1.4g is sugars. A good source of salt / potassium & magnesium at 9g/250/10 8g per 50g Dust? A bit, but not worth moaning about. The 1kg is highly compacted and like a house brick. Works great in a gourd with a bombilla and a cafeteria. Value? Great value, especially as you can keep adding water to it a few times until your fed up or its lost all its flavour. Recommended ? Yes if you enjoy a mild, very lightly smoked yerba with an average amount of Caffine lift (still more than an 'average' strong coffee.
