Hubsan H502E X4 Quadcopter Drone with GPS, 720p Camera

Great little quad that performs way above its weight and price point. I have a Phantom 2 and a TBS Discovery and theses have proven track record for solid flying characteristics for aerial photography and a bit of FPV fun. I am now able to chuck this little beauty in a rucksack and take it camping or up a hill etc and get decent footage of my adventures. The GPS lock is rock solid and whist the breeze/wind will move it about a bit it holds position really well. Many people have commented on this is not the quickest quad but that is not its intended purpose. If you want to use the 720P camera to capture decent footage it needs to be flown nice and smooth. This is not a FPV racer although with a few easy mods it could be turned in to a half decent FPV machine. The transmitter is nice to hold and use and there is an absolute compendium of mods/hacks/upgrades that could done to personalise this quad. Additional LiPOs are an absolute must as you will want to keep this thing in the air and keep having fun once you get it up an running. Just be aware that if you calibrate the transmitter it often loses its connection with the quad and it has to be re-bound to the quad before you can fly it. This is not mentioned in the manual. The manual is ok for basic set up and flight info but if you wish to get the full potential out of this little gem you have a spend a bit of time on the inter-web perusing some tutorials. Either way I have no regrets getting this little quad and I hope to use it just as much as my Phantom and TBS Discovery.

OK so here is the review after the maiden flight and never having flown a drone before.Plus points:Easy to setupEasy to calibrateEasy to flyEasy to recordGood PriceReturn to home feature (GPS)Cons:The camera I would argue is not 720p (and before anyone comments yet I removed the little sticker from the lens lol)The only let down for me is the camera, So OK I did not buy the drone to take professional video, however I would like to have seen what my drone saw in reasonable detail and maybe shot some footage for family movies, I would be happy if you could swap out the camera for something better.I have included a screenshot from the camera so you can make your own mind up.That being said the drone is really good, and the reason I picked this drone was due to the GPS as I wanted to ensure (as much as possible) that it would come back to me in the event that it went out of range or lost connection to the controller.A great purchase if you are not too fussed about the camera.EDIT: The charger appears faulty, I think my first flight was on residual charge which is disappointing.Going to contact amazon now :(EDIT2: Sent the drone back and Amazon gave me a refund, after looking at all other options I decided to spend the extra and order a DJI Spark drone.The camera on that particular drone is fantastic.

The drone drifts a lot, even in still air, and there is nothing in the instructions telling you how to pair the drone to you phone in order that can see what the drone camera is looking at in real time. Without that facility the drone is pretty much useless. As far as I can tell the only way to switch the drone on/off is to disconnect its battery which is very fiddly.

The H502E is a really good solid little drone with Altitude hold and Amazingly good GPS, for £75. The flight control system could do with being a bit smoother on the Yaw, but not a massive problem for the price, and like it's very expensive (£450+) cousins, it's got RTH, (Return To Home, for the uninitiated), which means it will come back and land next to you in the event of signal loss, or incase the controller batteries suddenly run out of power. Probably the first quadcopter (drone) in this price bracket to own that particular honour.All in all, a fantastic little starter drone for the price, which puts it firmly in the top end of the 'toy drone' category, let down at the last minute by a Particularly bad, and fraudulently described (720p?) Camera, ***/5

Quick service from ordering to delivery. Product arrived well packaged.Not sure where the second battery is though as shown in the image ?Good fun to use, never had a drone before so practice flying for a while first. For the price of the drone and the size of the camera it has a very clear image. Just for note there is no sound with the video recording.

I believe it to be a great product but my one came with a faulty motor so I'm sending it back but will get it replaced

ottimo drone per cominciare a volare in sicurezza grazie al GPS e il ritorno a casa automatico. unico in questa fascia di prezzo ad averlo in dotazione. riprese in 720 quindi buone ma non eccellenti ovviamente.drone stabile piccolo e che da il modo di imparare subito a pilotare un drone. prezzo bassissimo per tanta tecnologia offerta.

Es un buen drone para empezar, mucha asistencia,es tranquilo, acosejo pedir dos baterias mas, ya duran 10 min, laGrabacion es otra cosa, mala no! Lo siguente, osea lo recomiendo para un niño de mas de 9 años y para aprender a manejar un drone, nada mas....

No me gusta nada y estoy pensando en devolverlo. En cuatro vuelos el aparato ha perdido el control tres veces, o es muy inestable o bien tiene algún defecto en su placa. Primer vuelo, aparato estático manteniendo la altura a unos cuatro metros de altura, de repente se muere y cae en picado al medio minuto de vuelo. Segundo vuelo sin incidentes pero apreciando inestabilidad. Tercer vuelo estando estático a unos 10 metros del suelo comienza a entrar en pérdida y va cayendo hasta tocar el suelo. Cuarto vuelo idem, y además cuando logro salvarlo antes de tocar el suelo y lo vuelvo a elevar el aparato deja de obedecer las órdenes del control.Es el segundo Hubsan que tengo y no más, es la peor marca de drones que he sufrido. Pediré la devolución, no puedo confiar en un aparato así.

Questo drone mi ha sorpreso e deluso allo stesso tempo. Lati positivi... Prezzo fantastico per un drone a cui davvero non manca nulla. Raggiunge grandi altezze, la modalità expert è abbastanza veloce e la durata della batteria mi ha sorpreso. Il ritorno a casa è davvero preciso e ha funzionato ogni volta. L'ho acquistato come primo drone per mio figlio e la scelta è stata giusta. Lati negativi... Ad ogni cambio di batteria il drone richiede la calibrazione della bussola, non è un gran problema però che palle. Ho avuto moltissimi problemi con il binding. Dei tre modi possibili l'unico che funzionava alla prima (l'unico non descritto nel libretto) era quello con il tasto della fotocamera. Peccato che, cosa peggiore di questo drone, il controller sia davvero pessimo in termini di qualità. Va trattato come se fosse di vetro e purtroppo il tasto della fotocamera non cliccava bene dal primo momento. Insomma... Chiederò la sostituzione e non so se riprenderò lo stesso modello. Ottimo drone pessimo controller. Peccato perché ha ottime potenzialità.
