Good quality
Stanley tools are always good quality. This basic drawl does the job that is needed.

Perfect tool
Just what I needed instead of using hammer and nail to start. Feels comfortable in hand and makes a good hole

Proper small bradawl
Many reviews complain that this tool isn't pointy! They don't seem to know what a traditional bradawl is. I've been using them for over 60 years and they should be like this, with a sharpish flat end (like a small flat head screwdriver). An awl (for leather and various craft purposes) is pointed. Several reviewers complain that the steel shaft disappeared into the plastic handle. I've just used mine to make around 100 holes without that happening, so I think they must've been unlucky and bought from a faulty batch. However, this is a small bradawl which makes a narrow hole (2mm?) suitable for small screws. Larger, more heavy duty bradawls are standard in my experience.

Does the job I guess.
Bit short and stubby, also the pointy bit is more like a small screwdriver head than a point but I guess it does the job. Wouldn't buy this kind again though.
