A great present
Brought a smile to the recipients face right away. As the pages started being flicked through there were phrases right away that brought back fond memories. A really brilliant little book, thank you to the creators for taking the time to put it together.

A Great, Useful Book for Wading Through RAF Expressions
I've been reading/researching the Battle of Britain and the RAF for a project I've been working on for a while but often get stuck on words and expressions that are immediately familiar with people who have studied and read such stories - whether fact or fiction - but not so much with someone like me who is delving into this part of history in depth recently. This book has helped to recognise and understand the slang/colloquialisms that I've come across when reading the accounts of The Few who fought in those crucial battles and increased my enjoyments and understanding of what's what in the RAF, where the slang/expressions originated and where they are used today. Now, I have the book handy when I'm reading through my growing collection of RAF/World War II reading matter.

Eric Puts the RAF boot in!
A charming little book from the well known 'King Of English Usage' Eric Partridge - 'Usage and Abusage' being another Eric Partridge title of note.I bought this as I was doing some research in to WW2 RAF history. Perfect book to explain the odd reference in veterans accounts !Eric P was a man of many talents with a keen and scholarly interest in slang language. He served in the Army in WW1 , honourably on The Western Front so had a soldiers day to day exposure to 'slang' usage and an appreciation of the roots behind it's development and meanings. All is books have a style and panache inimitable and with a 'voice' which is authoritative and accurate. A joy to read !His approach to words Etymology - which means 'Truth' is always astonishing and the benchmark for explaining slang words.Recommend this book 100%

RAF Recruit Gift
Bought as a gift for our daughter that we snuck in her bag as she left for her basic training. I believe it was enjoyed by all, including some instructors during kit inspections!
