A good game without futuristic nonsense!
I have played a few COD games in the passed and as of late thought they were far fetched piles of tripe! I started on Call Of Duty on the Xbox 360 and enjoyed the campaign on that. I next moved to Call Of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 and again I found the game good with good gameplay for the campaign (I'm terrible at online so I will leave it there!!) then came Advance Warfare, hmmm, for me it was showing signs of losing it's way with weird and wonderful gadgets and super jumps and wall runs for inhuman distances! Losing its appeal for me! Then one day I bought Black Ops III..........Oh dear Oh dear! I played for around half an hour then had to switch the Xbox One off and delete. Just too far for my liking. I then left the franchise alone for a while until I saw the trailers for WWII. It looked fabulous, graphics looked amazing on all platforms and I started to want it but still felt unsure. After a while I took the plunge when it was on Amazon for £38. So far the gameplay and graphics have been superb on my Project Scorpio Xbox One X and its a good single player experience. No far fetched malarky just a good WWII game. My only gripe with it is the "follow on screen button" combat scenarios, a little tired for this day and age I thought, could've left that out really!!All in all, from what I have played so far I like it and have given it 5 Stars. Although I am rubbish at these games but can play this one!!!

One of the better single player campaigns
As someone that does not really enjoy multiplayer games, especially of the first person shooter cathgory, it would be understandable to question the purchase of this game for single player purposes.Indeed you should most certianly wait for a price drop before even considering getting it, as essentially you'll only play about 33% of the whole package. The single player campaign does the typical formula which we've now got used to in COD games, which is take control of a particular person to make the story more personal. In this particular story, we'll follow Daniels as the Americans (obviously, it's a shame the developers didn't decide to follow British soilders) through key moments such as D-Day and the liberation of Paris. It's a good story, one of the better COD ones in a long while, and for the kids who didn't just dive straight into multiplayer, is a good history lesson into the American/British efforts towards the end of the war. There is of course the usual massive cinemtic moments, but what made this more enajoyable, was there was a bit more thinking involved. This wasn't just a typical run and gun, find cover. The fact you now needed to find health kits rather than just hide in cover and let your man recover added a better dimension, and the special abilities of your comrades needed to be taken into account to move on in various sections.Whilst none of it was exactly brain taxing it made the effort less boring than some of the efforts which had come before. The campaign, whilst trying to grab as many acheivments as possible for me, lasted 13 hours. Far longer than your usual COD campaign which can usually be completed in half the time.As well as gunning on the ground, there's also the odd tank and plane missions which were also an enjoyable expierence which is not something you always used to get in COD games and was reserved more the battlefield franchise.Overall the single player campaign is enjoyable and refreshed enough to make it a return to form, it's now such a shame that this may well have been the final edition of COD to include a single player campaign as the most recent release Black Ops 4, does not include one.

Call of Duty return to what they do best! No more jumpsuits etc! Game of the year for me!
I have played many Call of Duty games, but I stopped when they really started to come up with weird and wonderful ideas for abilities such as being able to jump around the screen. For me this wasn't what Call of Duty was all about and I moved over to the Battlefield games that were coming out and staying "grounded" with their ideas, especially for online gaming.Luckily, for me, Call of Duty WWII has returned back to what it Activision did best.... simple, but great war shooting games. No jump suits or other weird abilities. Just simple run around and shoot, or as in my experience run around and get shot!!So if you were into the older Call of Duty games, you'll love this newest offering! The graphics are excellent and online gaming is very good. Some of the new maps are amazing and make for very fast paced online games. I just wish that they would follow Battlefield and have larger player games online. If you found this review helpful, can you please help me by clicking on the helpful button. Thanks

It is a really good game and I would recommend it to any COD player. The banter is just indescribable. I hit multiple Quad feeds and triple kills, mainly because I'm sick, but also because the game is so enjoyable. However I was vexed when I read that, even though i clicked the free one day delivery, I got an email saying that it would come a full 5 days after my initial order.

Boring! Boring! Boring!
Well, brilliant graphics, looked great, but gameplay very, very, boring. I don’t understand, perhaps its me, but what fun (and after all, I’m allegedly playing for fun) is there in playing the game repeating being killied every 5 seconds on the beach during the first few minutes of the game, or is that all there is to it? Just a long cut scene and then repeated boring dying. Well perhaps there might be more, but I’m now too bored by the game to attempt any further progress. So bored in fact, that I’ve thrown the peice of rubbish in the bin and have reverted to Skyrim. If you enjoy repetition, buy this. If you are looking for entertainment - don’t touch it with a bargepole. I will certainly not be purchasing anything by Activision again. Lucky to get one star.
