Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

I did have the paperback precursor to this book, but it was for the standard edition of Skyrim when it was originally released. On the release of Skyrim Special Edition (which I own on PS4) I decided to purchased this updated book as it contains lots of information on the official Bethesda DLC for Skyrim (Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn). This time I decided to spend a little extra and get the hardback version, and i am glad I did. The book really is a must have for any serious fan of Skyrim who has the three DLC installed, be it PC, XB1 or PS4. Weighing in at something like 2.5kg and 1117 pages, it has almost everything you could ever need for the ultimate Skyrim experience. I say "almost" as it would have been nice to have the entire text of all the books found within the game, though that would have made this book extremely cumbersome. Besides which you can get those books in the form of three hardback volumes, which I may get as a treat to myself. Some have complained of the quality of the pages and the small print. Nonsense! The pages are good quality, though thin, but then again they need to be thin or the book would be twice the size. The text is small yes, but not as small as some like to make out, but I guess that depends on the quality of your eyesight. I am short-sighted and wear contact lenses, but have no problems reading it. The ultimate players guide. Recommended.

Just fantastic. I don't usually buy books like this but for the Special Edition of the game, I thought I better. Skyrim has to be the best game ever made (in my opinion) just for being immersed in it's world so for me, the guide to go along with this and help me get even more out of it than the last time was a must. A big chunky book full of great information. I was actually taken aback with how big it was when it arrived. Not had a chance to fully go through it yet but so far it's been great. Screenshots, guides, locations - it's great. The font in it is a little small so some people with sight problems might have a struggle or two! Skyrim is my favourite game so I had to buy it. If it's yours, I'd do the same...

Considering the guide is published by Prima Games I was worried that the production would be cheap and nasty (which, when it happens, can be awful - don't ever consult the Dark Souls III guidebook). The paper quality is thin, but smooth and glossy. The book itself is pretty heavy though but for me that just adds to its charm. From personal experience, older Prima guides tended to lack detailed useful information, and the player would be better off looking online most the time. The screenshots, layouts and text in general were poor. Not so for this. The organization and overall continuity of quality is top notch. Well worth buying even if to just thumb through.

Amazingly comprehensive and detailed. A physically heavy book with over 1,100 large format pages of fairly small print (785,000+ words apparently, only a shade fewer than the Complete Works of Shakespeare) - reminds you how big the Skyrim world is and leaves you in awe of the work involved in compiling this guide. Screenshots and maps aplenty too. And the complete guide is searchable online, unlocked through a code included with the book.

Brilliantly detailed, and looks great on the coffee table. Is always a talking point with new guests. Pages are so thin however, so caution must be exercised or you'll tear some pages. I've got a couple myself.

Great guide! Very in depth as you would expect, as the game itself is huge! I've given it 4 stars due to one minor annoyance. I've noticed on some of the pages, the coloured ink from the pictures have leaked onto where the text is, leaving streaks of colour. Whether it's cheap paper &/or ink I'm not sure. Other than that great! Well worth £20.

Bought this for the wife who is a crazy Skyrim addict and she absolutely loved it. It's MASSIVE, full of crazy amounts of detail and looks beautiful. Can't believe it was only £25.

Excelente livro....não se assuste por estar em inglês, pois é de fácil entendimento...completo, tem todas as quest explicando, cada local, armas, magia, classes....vale cada centavo...qualidade impecável, capa dura aveludada, mapa enorme e um marcador de página exclusivo incrível.

Ho acquistato questa guida insieme all'edizione speciale PS4 di Skyrim per rigiocaare piacevolmente tutta l'avventura senza perdermi nulla, e sono molto soddisfatto. La guida è un MATTONE da 1100 pagine ed è completamente in inglese (per me non è un problema ma assolutamente va segnalato), attualmente non è disponibile la versione italiana. Comprende veramente tutto quello che c'è da sapere, ogni tipo di personaggio, equipaggiamento, incantesimo, nemico, tattiche di combattimento e molto di più. Molto comoda la mappa ripiegabile stampata su carta spessa effetto lucido (sarebbe un ottimo poster ma per qualche strano motivo è stampata su entrambi i lati, veramente un peccato) che comprende tutta l'area esplorabile di Skyrim e soprattutto le zone aggiunge con i DLC che nella prima versione di Skyrim erano acquistabili a parte mentre nella Special Edition sono inclusi. E' incluso anche un simpatico segnalibro per tenere traccia dei vostri progressi. Qualitativamente è ben fatta, sia per estetica che per contenuti. Copertina spessa (nella versione copertina rigida), carta abbastanza spessa di buona qualità e con una buona resa delle immagini, effetto lucido. E' incluso anche un codice per accedere ad una versione della stessa guida consultabile online e con mappa interattiva, utile specialmente "in mobilità" per non trascinarvi dietro il mattone, ma in ogni caso vale la pena :) Ottimo il servizio Amazon, più che soddisfatto dell'acquisto, consigliato se volete davvero godervi il game al 100%. Me encanta el libro. Es la guía más completa que los fans de The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, podrán encontrar. Viene completamente a color,el papel es de muy buena calidad y el separador también está muy bien hecho. Eso sí, hay que aclarar que el libro viene totalmente en Inglés. La pasta es gruesa para mantenerlo bien protegido. Al interior del libro viene un mapa tipo "póster" con las ubicaciones del juego y también se incluye un codigo para "acceder" a la misma guía pero en formato digital (a través de internet ya sea por PC, Tableta o Teléfono Celular). En cuanto al envió en producto llegó mucho más rápido de lo esperado y en perfecto estado. No me canso de comprar en Amazón México porque sus productos son de excelente calidad, el trato es amable cuando hay alguna duda que resolver por parte de su equipo de ventas y el envío y entrega son de lo mejor.

Prima released 3 editions of the Skyrim game guide before this one. The initial edition in 2011, a revised edition in 2012 that contained 2 of the 3 DLCs, and the Legendary edition in 2013 which I purchased and thought would be the final one. Then BOOM! Todd Howard announces Skyrim Special Edition in 2016, and Prima released this newer Special Edition guide. I quickly sold the previous guide and purchased this one. This has be the last Skyrim guide, I hope. This is a must-have for every Skyrim fan. It feels as if you hold the whole game in your hands, where you can quickly browse detailed information, pictures and maps about any quest, city, item or beast in the game from the comfort of your couch. Quality and content are the same as in the previous Legendary edition. The paper is still thin considering they have to fit 1000+ pages in this tome, and holding any page in your hands for a long time tends to soften the paper, so handle this book with care and keep the pages dry as much as you can. The map in this guide is pre-detached. The prima code is printed on a separate back-cover sheet, and the bookmark is nice, although I wish they kept the ribbons from the Legendary edition hardcover. Surprisingly, the hardcover collector's version of this edition at the time of my purchase was much cheaper than the hardcover version in previous editions, so I definitely had to get the collector's version this time. This guide is not meant to be read in whole like a regular book (although you can do so if you wish!). You can either use it when you want to find something specific in the game, so it works as a complete reference guide, or you could simply flip through its colored pages and read about something interesting that catches your eyes, then get excited and launch the game and try to find or explore what you have read about. Either way this guide is really fun to have. I wanted to give this book 4 or 4.5 stars, but considering that I love the game and appreciate having this book, I will give it 5 stars.

An absolutely amazing companion to the game, & a real must for any fan of Skyrim, serious or otherwise! The level of depth, content, detail, mapping, & information is jaw-dropping, & stunningly presented in a gorgeous hardback edition, complete with an exclusive artworked bookmark & huge double-sided poster, revealing all locations in the world of Skyrim. I'm still just a couple of months into playing this enormous open-world RPG, however this titan of a manual is now faithfully by my side every time I play. Massively entertaining, all encompassing, vital for getting the most out of The Elder Scrolls. Enjoy!
