Product exactly what was required and a good price
I had read this brilliant Stephen King story well before the film adaptation was released, but I knew it would be one of the best with Kathy Bates in the title role (anyone who has seen the film 'Misery' will know she's perfect for Stephen King characters). Thoroughly recommend this film, and I bought the DVD for myself as it never seems to come up on TV.

Sometimes, being a bitch is all a woman has to hang onto.
"Sometimes, Dolores... sometimes, you have to be a high-riding bitch to survive. Sometimes, being a bitch is all a woman has to hang onto". What a creation Vera Donovan is, part monster, part survivor, part saviour and a totally glamourous cunning bitch that you both pity and want as your best friend. This is a fantastic taut thriller with biting feminist and social commentary, a story of 3 different generations of wildly different yet equally tough women struggling in a tough world. Both Judy Parfitt and Kathy Bates should have been nominated for Oscars for this - a fantastic movie.

Superbly acted gritty movie
Taylor Hackford has made an absolutely gripping film closely following Stephen Kings original story. Beautifully photographed it has superb performances from all the participants, Kathy Bates being outstanding and a searingly excellent contribution from Judy Parfitt. Not for snowflakes....this film bites hard!
