Q: Is this suitable for a steam iron with a non-stick sole plate?

I would think so - there’s nothing abrasive about it. I love it, couldn’t believe the muck that came off my iron. You’d get two or three applications from it. Not too bad a smell - I do it in the kitchen with the back door open - plenty of kitchen roll underneath to catch the muck.

Q: Will this remove burned on bits of garments off the iron plates?

It should . Just make sure the iron plate is slightly warm , place a rag cloth below the iron - as when you apply this on the warm plates it starts to melt of the burnt bits and may make stick to the surface on which the iron box is placed . Once u apply the product take a clean cloth and wipe it down. Iron box will be good as new . At the time I bought this product there weren’t any instructions that came with it. Hence the above discription .

Q: how do you use it? should the iron be hot? filled with water? Why no instructions with product

Thankyou for your enquiry. If you have purchased this product the instructions are on the back of packaging. If you havn't it says you rub the product on the dirty areas wipe turn on the iron let the steam come out and then rub again. I havn't actually used this product before but looks easy enough,Thelma

I can't comment on the Teflon but it's an amazing product. Just switch off the iron and rub it in when it is cooling down, then wipe with a cloth. It does produce a rather acrid smell and make sure you have something to catch any dirt that drops off the iron
