Works a treat!
I wanted a 4G router as backup for our poor (and slow) "copper" BT ADSL internet connection. Alas, with an old BT exchange, fibre is not available in our area. This 4G D-Link router has proved to be an excellent choice and it works really well. We do live in an area with poor mobile reception so I paired the router with a Poynting XPOL 5/4G antenna. Results are excellent and with an EE data SIM, downloads are consistently ~30Mbps. In fact, they are so good, the ADSL internet contract is being cancelled...Set up is very easy using a browser - though the menus are a tad weird. After reading other reviews, I was concerned about needing a firmware upgrade for the router to work with EE SIMs. However, my router arrived with the latest firmware and all was well. The router is very reasonably priced, it has gigabit LAN ports and is proving to be a stable device. So, thus far, I am very pleased with no complaints. Time will tell.......BTW. The D-Link APP for Android is useless. It won't connect to the router properly let alone allow me to manage it. I will stick with the browser interface....

Keeps Rebooting
I can only get on to the user interface either by wifi or Ethernet for between 30 - 90 secs, I did manage to get to the logs to find that an error had been found 5 times so "reboot module", not particularly useful if there are issues, the device actually connects and serves up a very good signal, then it reboots. I'll be sending it back. For the time I wasted I could have bought one a lot more expensive, I wish I had, as a temporary solution, I have a spare iphone, so I put my 4g card in that, created a personal hotspot on the phone, used a usb connector to my computer to share the signal. If you then look in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network Connections you can bridge the iphone connection to your lan connection if you have one or you can go to your mobile hotspot and share the computers wifi, this has turned out to be a very successful implementation, the only drawback is that your computer and iphone have to stay on but otherwise a pretty fast setup. I have raised a ticket with their support but I have not had a response for over 2 days now. I am using Three for the 4g, the signal has been flawless. You need to have iTunes installed to get the driver for the iphone USB connection to work.

Works but not straight away on EE SIM
Ok so I got this device to use with an EE SIM card for unlimited internet.Nope! Didn’t work straight out the box as it should have. I then read other’s reviews and this has happened before. I should have read the reviews.I needed to download and update it but to do this you need a network port in your laptop... I’ve only got an iPad!Anyway, ended up having to get someone round to do all this for me and it was just a pain when I expected it to just work out the box with the SIM card in.So if you have an EE SIM, don’t get it.Once it’s up and running, it’s great. Internet is working.Good price. Not easy to use. I suppose had it worked with the sim straight away then it would be given 5 stars.

Great option while you are abroad
Update Feb 2021 - A note for UK EE 4G Sim users - YOU need a firmware update! This is caused by EE not the router. You need to be prepared to manually configure for some 4G providers as with all technology.Bought this 4G router to use abroad. It conveniently came with both UK and EU 2-pin plugs. Used on Vodafone Portugal with amazing speed 80+ Mbps, and also NOS Kanguru in Portugal which has slower speeds 8-17Mbps but the benefit of being unlimited. Configuration in Portugal is manual, but quite straightforward in the Router Admin Panel.Update. Used continuously during the lockdown in EU, with no problems, no reboots for 4 months and high speed 4G connection. The router worked flawlessly.

Serviceable device, if unattractive and occasionally troublesome
Easy to set up and good reception range. Bit conventionally dull to look at with occasional 4G drop-out requiring re-boot for a re-connect. The reboot is quick though - under 2 minutes - and it's well-priced for what it is.
