Will this be able to run heavy drivers like the AKG K702?

Hi, the output of this amp likes headphones of around 80 ohms like many of the studio types. Sounds good as I use Behringer 80 ohms studio myself.

Is the output volume in the headphones sufficient to cope with a loud drumkit being played in the same room?

The amp is quite powerful but one tad of warning and advise, for one it can exceed safe levels and create damage to ears if tuned up so loud normal headphones overplay drums. My advise is for training with drums for full ear covering headphones with good natural sound blocking not noise cancelling as this uses waves to cancel out the others and too loud can be unhealthy too.
