Great first reading book!
My son is in reception and has just started to read. This book has been great to get him to do additional reading. It is nice for them to be able to read something other than their school books. He loves the fact he can read about one of the characters he likes and it really helps keep his attention. The book is well made and I will be purchasing others from this line.

Perfect
Short to read. Simple sentence structure. Is a challenge for my almost 5 year old who is on phonics phase 3 at the moment so that is good. He doesn't like the comics for phonics books from school as much as he does his super heroes so I use these alongside them. He can read the high frequency words and the CVC words as well as a few others but I do like the fact there's a challenge there in longer three syllable words and for some two syllable words he hasn't come across yet.The series isn't about an adventure that the characters takes part in though, it is an introduction to that character. In our house that is fine because we then go on to discuss what we know they can do etc but it might make a difference for some.

Spidey assists a young reader
Nice little book for our young reader, who is more interested in super heroes than in most other subjects. This is so much better than the boring generic books that thought me how to read 40 years ago.The book is very colourful and covers Spiderman / Peter Parker's adventures in a concise but very clear manner, so that our son could very well relate to it.Having said that, the book is fairly thin so not too sure about the value for money, hence only 4 stars.

reading hero!
This is a great book for encouraging early reading and word recognition. My son wasn't interested in the usual 'chip and biff' style first reading books, but this is a book he will read again and again. He can't read it on his own yet, but we sound out the words together and the illustrations are great. I will be checking out the rest of the marvel heroes of reading!

My 2 year old can read (or at least recognise words)
Having read this in front of my 2 year old a gazilion times, he can recognize the following words..."Spiderman", "Peter", "New York" and "Webs". The way to do this is to use your finger to trace the words as you read and then when you get bored of reading the book, when you get to the last word in a sentence, don't say it - see if your kid says it first.

Amazing book for spidey fans learning to read
Bought this for my 3yo son who is a die hard spiderman fan. This is a short story, a line or 2 per page, simple short words and lots of repetition. Perfect for little learners learning to recognise words and learn to read.I highly recommend this book.

Good story, too advanced for new reader.
My little boy loves spider man and is in reception and learning to read. I thought this would be a perfect book to encourage him to practise his reading. He loved the story but most of the words are too advanced for his stage. He was also confused because the a is not formed how he is learning to read!
