Unnerving, dirty, bleak and bloody - this is a rare gem.
The Hollywood dominance over the horror genre has left us with some rather bland, sanitised, outputs over the past few years, namely the Paranormal Activity and Conjuring cycles. Here we have one of the exceptions that makes the genre worthwhile again. This can be added to the new wave of intelligent horror films, see Hereditary and the Suspiria remake to name two, which offer creative, layered story telling as well as a discussion on the human predicament in our present times. It is a brutal, nasty experience but it also has intelligence and uncompromising artistic vision.

Turkish Delight
Very well-made horror from the East, with a retro feel and a circular twist at the end, which unfortunately didn't mean very much. The art direction was superb, and the cult leader, played by Mehmet Cerrahoglu, was a lesson in understatement. Here is an actor who doesn't need any special make-up or prosthetics to do the job.The story is simple, but that is not a bad thing, it is just slightly rushed in parts, and could perhaps have had more impact. I would have liked to have seen a clearer connection made to the protagonist's dreams, in particular to his dead friend and his parents, and this could have been achieved, had recognizable people appeared amongst the morass of slimy followers. I also felt that the hammer blow and torture scenes could have been more effective. A sledgehammer to the head is not something to be taken lightly and it could have been done with more finesse to create a lasting sense of horror. However, these are relatively minor quibbles. I was well impressed and this should turn into a cult classic.

It's a contemporary Turkish horror film, what's not to like?
For those tired of the same old ideas from the same old sources it's always exciting to discover a film from outside of the ordinary, and this one happens to be an eminently respectable contribution to the horror genera.Be in no doubt, everything we expect from a horror film is here: high quality special effects, solid performances and a dark, adult storyline, those with an aversion to subtitles may be put off, however, but anyone willing to make the effort will not be disappointed. The film begins with a squad of police officers on a shift break at a local diner, we find the group in good spirits but soon the atmosphere sours, one of the men picks a fight with restaurant staff another suffers a panic attack, suddenly a distress call made and the group head off towards a disused building on the edge of town.

Instant 'Cult' classic !
Sometimes a film misses your attention when first released, this I would have gone to cinema to see... !Offbeat horror about Turkish cops who end up in some weird cult ( satan not mentioned) and a whole lot of bad stuff falls upon them !I came across this just to pass a hour and half during lockdown but its a brilliantly made movie !Suspense with brooding evil with a twist and a turn , with a whole heap of gore thrown in.. !I think because of the film being a Turkish production adds to it , as in having to read the subtitles ( unless you speak Turkish ) and not the usual American 'Hollywood ' accents. This is the first movie I've had to look away from on one particular scence !And the little guy is real !?!?Top marks and highly recommended for Horror Fiends !

Craziest, most effed up surrealist horror I've seen in quite sometime.
I'm... not even sure what to say about this film. I've seen some pretty vile, disgusting films in my life, and this one ranks at the very top of them. It's Turkish in origin, so there are subtitles, but the dialogue is pretty much irrelevant when being subjected to the images on the screen. This movie is weird, surreal, scary - but in an existential dread kind of way, not jump scares. This is not for the weak minded or stomached. This movie is for serious horror fans, and I mean true fans of surrealist horror. I've not seen anything like it in awhile. Watch if you think you can handle it.

Understated And Possibly Underrated Turkish Blood Bath
Quite a surprise. I had no idea what to expect, but this certainly wasn't it.I enjoyed it thoroughly, none-the-less.What starts seemingly as a movie about a bunch of bad cops doing the rounds gradually descends into a surreal and nightmarish paradoxical tale of Hell on Earth. Possibly referring to the Hell we as mankind created for ourselves? I don't know...it all got a bit trippy.Which is precisely my cup of tea.

lots of style over substance
Solid acting, great effects, unfortunately, I found I didn't care about the characters, and it was full of padding and plot threads that don't go anywhere or make very little sense. It turns out his is a feature length version of a short film by the same director, and it felt like it as well. I was left feeling at times that I was watching an extended music video.
