Great set of paints with a good range of colours
It's been literally decades since I last painted miniatures, so I'm still finding my feet going back to it. I used to use the old Citadel Miniature paints that came in tiny metal pots, which I think by the end of my time painting had moved onto plastic pots. I would be using Citadel/Games Workshop paints now if they didn't seem ridiculously expensive. So I did some research and found out that the Vallejo paints were highly regarded and a cheaper alternative. So I got them and have started painting a cool Dwarf Miniature that I found on Etsy (3d printed). I haven't got very far with the pairing yet, as I'm fitting out in between lots of other things and being a perfectionist I don't want to meet it up. I haven't used all of the colours yet, but the ones I have seem good to me. the colours go on well and I've also been trying the use of Acrylic follow improver to thin it down rather than use water. The results are good in my opinion, I just need more time to finish the miniature. If I am allowed to edit this post at a later stage I will add a picture of the completed miniature. I'm not sure I'll ever get back to the same level as my Golden Demon Award winning days! In my opinion you get a good selection of colours for a more reasonable price and the paint itself seems to have good flow, consistency and coverage. There is an impressive range of colours available in the Vallejo range, as can be seen in the picture I've added, but this set contains 16 different colours including Black, White, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Metallic Gold and Metallic Silver, amongst others.

Best starter set IMHO
This gives all primary and secondary colours. The paint is really good value and quality. The coverage is excellent and the bottle are really easy to use. There may be better sets to buy if you have a particular theme in mind but if you're painting lots of different things and are more interested in the painting side of the hobby this is probably the one to get as it has widest range of colours.

a good starter set with a nice range of colours
this is a good starter set of paints with a good choice of colours. I would have preffered it not to include the 2 metallic paints (silver and gold) to be replaced with a couple of flesh tones. all of the paints cover well (except for the metallics, especially the gold, you need a lot of coats of those to get good coverage but thats just par for the course with metallic paints) its good enough value for money

Excellent paints
These paints are fantastic to hand paint with. Unfortunately, though, some sellers have hiked the prices up in order to claim free postage when the cost is absorbed into the item price instead. Other than that, I use these paints all the time.

good selection
a good selection of paints easy to mix to get the desired colors. would have liked to have had a brighter version of the three primary colors so i could use them in the mix but on the whole a good priced kit.

At Last a Paint that covers
I have tried so many acrylic paints in the past for painting on to plastic models - Usually having to apply an a primer or undercoat for either the paint to adhere properly or for the colour to be vibrant. These Paints will do the job straight from the pot. Also they mix well to create your own colours.
