I wanted to keep bear off my deck. So I started researching electric fencers.I wanted the most powerful solar one I could find. This one shows 11,000 volts. I ran four strands of aluminum wire recommended by the manufacturer. It's 30' long and the fencer is rated for 30 miles. So I knew no issue getting full strength from this as the run of wire is so short. I put in three ground rods as recommended. And bought a $140. Tester to test the output on the wire. 7100 volts was what it showed . I called pacmak and talked to the service manager. I got one word answers. He was not thrilled I was questioning the output was not 11,000. He said the $140. Tester was junk. You need a ground probe Tester to be accurate. So. I ordered a ground probe Tester looking for the 11,000 volts.It showed 7100 volts just like the hand held Tester. So I give up. It's up its working and no spring bears have showed up to try it. But if it doesn't put out 11,000 volts. Don't advertise it at that.
