I don't think so. It tastes just the same as when I lived in Trinidad and just chopped the top off a green coconut to drink the juice. Yummy.

It's natural, so has no added sugar and if they somehow removed the sugar it wouldn't be pure.

Vitamin C is a natural ingredient, so I believe it's pure. I used to live in the West Indies and loved drinking the water from fresh green coconuts and this tastes the same.
