Pretty Amazing Value. UPDATE: I bought 6 more. Best UV B Light Source Value.
UPDATE 10 26 2024: The more I use this light and work with other brands, the more I have come to appreciate this little source. Ask for this one BY NAME. There are other Darkxxxx brands out there - they do not compare.I have a professional UV A and UV B light source. Sometimes people ask to borrow it, and I get a little nervous because of the cost. But I saw this product, very reasonably priced, and thought why not? Can't go wrong. I was pleasantly surprised. The UV B performance was 80% of my expensive light. There is a little bit more remaining visible light, which means it probably has some UV A also, but it sure isn't bad, and would not interfere with most tasks. For rock hunters, ID checkers, looking for pet stains, examining skins conditions or just plain having fun, you really cannot beat this light.Couple of things. After 15 minutes of operation, the lens on this UV source is hot. I measured 160 degrees F. The body of the unit stayed at a comfy 100 degrees F. But if using this close to skin, be a little cautious. After one hour of operation, the UV B output was noticeably reduced, but still very usable. The lens temp has dropped to a 100 F.I am at a loss to explain how they can sell this product as inexpensively as they do. Built-in battery, nice aluminum case, carry handle, cute little gift box, quality instructions. Most companies couldn't ship me a paper clip for the amount of money these things costs. I bought another already.Perhaps I can offer this analogy between this UV B light and my expensive model. Consider a digital voltmeter. Entry level meters go from $15 to $250. At the low end, you've got Harbor Freight. At the high end, you have Fluke. Both meters will get most jobs done. For the weekend hobbyist, a cheap meter is mostly fine. But you won't find those on assembly lines or in the tool boxes of professionals. You certainly won't find the cheap UV B light sources on a manufacturing assembly line curing UV adhesives or doing calibrations. I bet your dermatologist is using a much higher quality light too. This UV source ran hot and the output varied considerably over the course of an hour. I charged it up and did it again. It works as advertised.Buy all means - buy one of these!! I bought two already, and I'm going to get some more as stocking stuffers!

Fantastic way to find those invisible dirty spots!
I have a couple of young dogs that do have accidents once in a while. I was looking for something that would make it easier for me to see if there have been any markings, stains etc. around the house. This is a very small flash light but I do feel this is the right size for me. The end cap where the lanyard is unscrews to reveal a USB. Plug this end to charge up the flashlight, the letter D will eventually light up green once it is fully charged. This does work in the daylight but you can see more clearly when using this in a darker lit situation. As shown in my pictures I have a dirty area that needs to be clean but under the UV light further marks are shown. Yes there are better, bigger and more expensive lights than this one in the marketplace but if you're on a budget this is ideal.

Better than the Competitors
First off, this light is quite a bit smaller (and therefore lighter and more portable) compared to the more expensive competitors. It performs better, too—being on a wave-length with less visible light, which means it is more useful and effective compared to lights with lower wavelengths. It is cheaper than those other lights, too.So far I have found it to be durable, though I also have not used it in any rigorous settings. But the threads on the back that cover the USB (for charging) are nice and thick, which means they should last—and the body of the flashlight is metal, meaning dropping it won’t do more than scuffing the case.It took me a while to find the light I wanted, since I originally bought it to search for Uranium Glass. This was the one I settled on after literally months of searching and researching to find the best light. For heavier use (think whole-house animal urine spotting) to lighter use (looking at the pretty fluorescent colors woven into my passport) I am happy with my decision—and you probably will be, too.TL:DR: Small, Powerful, and has the best commercially-available wavelength light you can find. Will do whatever you need a UV light to do.
