Times Tables CD Learn the Tables with Songs and Games

Kids love it

I like the way the multiplication songs have been laid out. We use it on the school run, to school - not back though. It takes us 30 mins to get to school and after 30 mins my son has had enough. The main thing is though is that he is REMEMBERING some of the multiples after only a couple of days - which is the whole point. The down side is that I have the songs stuck in my head all day long…

Bought for 8 year old boy who was already well on the way with learning tables but I think this is helping him fully 'embed'. The songs are catchy (so you find yourself humming them after you've stopped CD) though perhaps not distinctive enough for you to learn each one quickly. Numbers are clearly pronounced within song, in "one nine is nine, two nine's are eighteen' way. Table sung 3 times in each song, with middle time through omitting result, e.g. "one nine is [space for child to speak/sing answer]" though 7 and 8 times table are quite 'up tempo' so hard to sing along with unless child has table really well learned already. Also has spoken version of each table plus spoken quiz (randomised questions for each table, separately) and randomised version of song (not sure how helpful this is, we haven't used). Overall, a good buy, no faults found with it apart from the faster speed of some of the tables.

We have been using this cd for a while now and my 7 year old (who has to work quite hard to remember his tables) has nearly got them all down pat. With my kids, we have been working through the 4 'levels' 1. - spoken tables in order (e.g. 1x2=2, 2x2=4, 3x2=6), then level 2 - sung tables in order (same as before but a little faster). Level 3 - spoken tables in random order and then 4, - sung tables in random order (the fastest and most challenging). The tunes aren't necessarily the most memorable but I think that the strength of this cd is being able to follow a path of progression.

This cd is ok for helping your children learn their times tables. I bought it for my 9 year old son to help him out and whilst the style of music is too young for him, he has found it somewhat useful. The music is sing songy and sung by a group of older children. The tunes are like old midi files or a toddler's nursery rhyme cd. At first the songs sound all the same, but once you've heard them a few times, you get the variation and can start to recall based on the music.In my opinion, the cd would work better if there was a much clearer style between the songs. When I learned as a child, one song was country western, one rock n roll etc., with some lyrics as well. This improves recall because you end up knowing the songs off by heart. I would recommend you look for something more unique than this.

As a mum that is very involved in her kids studies and want them to find learning interesting and knowledge achievable through hard work & persistent- I found this audio CD very good! It does precisely what a time table tool should- it teaches a child at a good pace, it repeats each table as a song afterwards, plus it has timetable games at the end, how cool is that! It must definately deliverys on, capturing a childs interest and engagement- the whole 64mins of it!My son is 6 and he absolutely loves this CD, especially when he found out that having the knowledge of his timestable helps him solve his fraction questions.I strongly recommend this product- it delivers & its very child friendly!

I bought this for my 7 year old daughter, and she loved it the first time she listened to it, she has times tables tests every week and there has been an instant improvement in her marks and they continue to get better. We listen to it on the way to school and on the way home she loves the fact that each times table has a slow song, then a quicker one and then one where she has to fill in the answers and the quizzes at the end are great and make times tables fun for her. This product made an instant difference and I would definately recommend it.

Got this for my son as i remember listening to this on the school run as a kid. The songs are awful, not like they used to be! Not catchy at all and sung in a choir like fashion. I was expecting the DC to drive me mad but this doesn't even help him learn as nothing memorable about the tunes at all! Better to use ones on youtube

It was not what I had hoped for - too simplistic - and the tune is very repetative.
