High quality jack stands and can be easily disassembled when storage space is limited.
This is my first pair of jack stands, still new to working on my own car. There was a video on YouTube that rigorously tested many jack stands on the market on various metrics. This pair consistently ranked as a top performer. The major selling point was the flat base. I've used them multiple times and they have not left any indentation or markings on the cement. Yes, they have to be use on flat ground, but I'm not risking jacking a car up on anything that's not flat. Them being aluminum, they're very light and easy to carry.Even better and not expected, these can be easily disassembled. There's just a single Philips head screw that holds the vertical red piece into the silver base. I live in an apartment without a garage where storage is limited. When I know I won't be using them for a while, I unscrew the base and put them back in box. The box is very small, the size of a large reference book, making them something I can throw anywhere.Price wise, these are not cheap when you can buy other 3-ton jack stands for half the price. I still justified paying it because superior tested metrics and other value added features (light weight, non-damaging base, store well). One issue. The stand tops are flat. My car has pinch welds necessitating buying rubber pinch weld adapters. Like these, those adapters sold separately are not cheap since they are a more niche product and hard to find. I found a better price than the one on Amazon, so shop around.

So much better than the old style, stable, easy to use, LIGHT! Worth the extra, especially on sale.
These are sturdy, reasonably stable, and very easy to handle and manipulate. A part of me wishes for a bit finer adjustability, but the available stops are totally adequate. They're great looking and the excellent fit and finish makes the locking pins easy to use, despite requiring two hands. The two-handed mechanism is a worthwhile trade-off given that I no longer trust the one-handed ratchet type, rightly or wrongly. Best feature aside from safety is the light weight, so easy to handle.

Expensive, but good.
There are cheaper options, BUT these stands are lightweight, compact (they fit in a small box), and they ranked very well compared to traditional steel stands (look for a YouTube video by "Project Farm"). And while it's purely subjective, they also look good next to my aluminum floor jack...

Strong, sturdy, well made, easy to use, felt safe under large SUV
I have been using these for about a year now and they have been everything you could hope for out of jack stands! First, the build quality, finish, and functionality are all excellent and the stands look like they will be able to survive many decades worth of a garage environment. I have kicked them, tossed them, and of course dropped a fully loaded 2019 Chevy Tahoe w/ 22 inch wheels, 4x4, 6.2L engine, on them many times and the stands shows very little wear and tear as seen in the pictures. The stands are easy to maneuver and adjust, balance well, and they naturally seem to catch the vehicle frame even if not positioned perfectly. The jacks store easily and have a pretty small footprint for their size and function.

Beautiful (as far as a jack stand goes)
Premium price for a beautiful looking jack stand (if you’re into that kind of thing, lol). Couple of negatives. for such an otherwise beautifully designed product, mine came with some casting “flash” which prevented the locking pin from seating as can be seen in the first photo. Not a big deal as it took less than 10secs with a Dremel tool to correct but probably should have been done at the factory.Despite all the comments that the chain is too short, I had no problems with mine. Either the manufacturer corrected this and made the chain longer, or rather I suspect that those with complaints did not follow the assembly directions correctly and did not align the base in line with the hole. Plenty of chain available to place the pin and you don’t want to get tangled in excess. The ball detent in the pin is not really retentive, but the pin will not move with the weight of the vehicle on it.The major complaint is that lack of availability of a jack pad adapter. I am “jury rigging” this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081JRFFJ3?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details as seen in the photos but it is not ideal. This seems made of a durable rubber but is not made specifically for the jack pad on this stand, but it is the only one available that comes close. My Mercedes does not have pinch rails but this rubber pad works in conjunction with another aluminum jack pad adapter made specifically for my car. This rubber pad can be placed on the stand’s pad with either the pinch weld slot perpendicular to the jack stand pin (as in photos 4-6) or parallel to the jack stand pin (as in photos 7-9). Because of the raised “wings” on the jack stand’s pads, either way the middle of the rubber pad is not adapted to the stand’s pad (as you can see in photo 9) unless the rubber slot is placed perpendicular to the stand’s pin, in which case the pad will be “crushed” onto the stand’s pad by your pinch weld. For those of you with pinch welds, this is probably the safest orientation since if the rubber splits or fails, at least your pinch weld will be parallel to the raised “wings” on the jack stand’s pad. Unfortunately, this is the orientation that is also the least retentive orientation of the rubber pad to the jack stand pad so that you have to be extremely careful (which you should be anyways) when lowering your vehicle onto the jack stand so that the rubber pads stay in place. If you orient the rubber pads so that it’s groove is parallel to the jack stand pin, then the rubber pad is much more retentive on the stand pad, but then your stand pad wings will not be in the most stable orientation with regards to your frame rail or pinch welds should the rubber fail by splitting or tearing. My most critical review of this jack stand is that the manufacturer should make a rubber jack pad adapter that is specifically made for this jack stand. Some users have glued the rubber pads to this stand (which is a shame since it will be more of hassle when the rubber pads wear, or have resorted to making there own adapters using 2x4s). Since I do not have pinch welds on my car, I will stabilize the pads using either zip ties in the groove, or velcro in the center of the pad. Either should work since once the weight of the vehicle is on the rubber pad (assuming the weight is not at an angle), the pad is not going anywhere. There are many, many adapters available for the other type of common crescent shaped jack stand supports but the jack support pad on this one type of stand (the Torin stand) is unique and no pads that specifically fit are available. A jack stand which is otherwise so well made should not require “jury rigging” a fix to make it work.

Great stands for renters
I used to own the pyramid style jack stands but my neighbors complained to my leasing office about the corners leaving indents in the asphalt and they took way too much space in my small storage closet. I bought these because they have a big flat bottom which distributes the load better and doesn’t dig into the ground. They’re also feel way sturdier and they’re easier to store, if I unscrew the bottom they fit in a box about 3 inches wide. They’re a bit expensive but totally worth it in my opinion.

Sturdy
These are sturdy. Great for using on a flat surface. If the surface is uneven these may not be your best choice! They may work good and a gravel surface too!

Top Quality and Functionality
These are premium jack stands. There are multiple jack stands that you can buy for a lower cost, however, I am happy to pay the extra money in order to get these. There are several reasons to buy these jack stands over other types.1. These are anodized aluminum jack stands so they will not rust. The anodization layer is thick, robust and looks very nice.2. The aluminum in this part makes them lighter weight then steel jack stands.3. The base of this jack stand is flat, which make it distribute the load over a larger surface, and will not create markings or divots in asphalt.4. The shape of this jack stand also makes it easier to jack up the car on the pinch weld and put the jack stand on the pinch weld. Since the base is flat, my floor jack clears the base, and I can slide the base slightly under the floor jack making it easier to place the jack stand in the correct location on the pinch weld.I use this on my Ford focus which is a small compact car. On most small cars you need to use the pinch weld to jack up the car, you also need to use the pinch weld for the jack stands. Therefore, if your jack, or jack stand is too big, then you will not have enough room to jack up the car, and place the jack stands, because the jack will be in the way and there will be no room for jack stands. That is why it is important to match your cars weight, to the jack and jack stands, and not buy jack stand rated for 6 tons on a 3 ton car. The larger rated jack stands are much bigger. You should only use the recommended jack points found in your car manual. Using other parts of the vehicle, not recommended by the manufacture is unsafe and could damage the vehicle. These are well made quality jack stands, I have used them several times and they have proven to be stable and easy to use. They look really cool and I am confident they will maintain the appearance for a long time. I think buying jack stands is a one time purchase and will last a life time. Therefore I was OK with buying a premium product that I will have forever.---***If you found my review helpful, Please click the helpful button below :) Thank you***---

Nicely made, light and can be compact.
I wanted this type of jack to add to my off-roading kit. It is light and can be compact by removing the bottom M8 screw.A nice unseen detail is a friction (pin?) system inside the outer “post” (see parts diagram) which will support the inner extension tube at the highest level and prevents it from falling out completely if tipped upside down. This also means that there is no apparent way to separate the inner extension tube from the post should you want to do this. So it’s a mystery why Torin shows these as two different parts in the diagram, as I can’t see how you would separate them (without a hacksaw) for repair or replacement. The only other option was the mastercraft maximum version that retails for 135cad (may 2022) which appears to be made by the same manufacturer. When I was researching the price of the Torin unit fluctuated from 100-75CAD in just a few days so be patient. I am very satisfied with this purchase especially as it was almost half the cost of CTire at regular price.
