Borrowed one of these off of a friend and decided that I needed one in my life. It is a great hammer for many jobs, the handle is comfortable in the hand. As a person with pain issues this hammer stops the pain shockwaves running up my arm that can happen with harder smaller headed hammers. Its a nice tool, i just hope it lasts. If it wears well I will be purchasing a smaller one as well. This hammer is a good standard size but the head might be big for finer tasks.

Excellent quality hammer. With copper one side and tightly wound leather the other. These hammers are for when you don't want to damage the surface of your work material. They are not for driving in nails! Beautifully weighted, they are heavier than you think, so think carefully about what size you want. The size 1 weighs 660g (1lb 7oz) and feels like a normal hammer. The size 3 weighs in at 1860g (4lb),so is basically a lump hammer, but with soft surfaces. I have included a photo of them, when they were new. The top hammer is a size 3, double Copper ended. The bottom, a size 1, copper and rawhide ended. I find them both incredibly useful. After a while, you will find the copper beats itself into a mushroom shape. This is perfectly normal. They are beautifully made and will last you years. Strongly recommended. I hope you found this review helpful.

This is the right weight I need for what I use it for. My only gripe is that the rawhide head started to split rather than flatten out.
