North Mountain Supply Pectic Enzyme - 1 Pound Jar

At certain times of the year, there is a glut of mandarin oranges in our grocery store that they sell at cut rates or donate to the local food pantry (where I get them). I’ll come home with four or more bags of mandarins just past their sell-by date, only to discover there is not enough room in my freezer for the extras we can’t eat before they go bad. I’ve discovered that mandarin oranges can really well, but you have to soak them in water and pectin enzyme first to loosen and begin to the dissolve the bitter pith. That’s what I’m using this for. This method works really well to allow me to preserve a nutritious fruit that would otherwise wind up in the landfill.

I’ve only made cloudy wine until I used this. It’s pectic enzyme and it works. Nothing much else to say, just seeing what happens after I do 5 reviews. I only have one review left on the counter.

Product came sealed and unbroken. Didnt have a chance to try it in wine but will soon.

I couldn’t find this product locally and was happy to know that I could find it here. The price was great!

As described, lid was loose but no spilled product. Will buy again.

It's been a few days, and my mandarins aren't dissolving the membrane of my mandarins even after doubling the dosage to 1 tsp/gallon. It's at room temperature because I read it's supposed to speed up the process, but now it's bubbling and still not fully dissolved.
