The bad news:It’s got a non-intuitive instruction set and operation.GPS data does not appear to attach to photos (a who cares for me…I only use it for videos)The good news:Pairing is relatively easy.Make sure and change the bluetooth setting to allow auto wake (though this has not worked for me yet).GPS acquisition is about 2 or minutes first setup…if it is a re-aquire…30 secondsGPS status displays on screen….shows either X or a signal strength meterBright screen easy to read in direct sunShows both remote and camera battery charge statusShows camera mode (photo, video, timelapse…) and can easily change using the remoteFairly quick response for start/stop video capture…probably just fast enough for photos…seems like a fairly standard bluetooth shutter controlStatus light on remote matches camera, so you know just by looking at remote if camera is recording or not.Basic use case strategy appears to be…turn both on and simply control the cam from the remote…but leave them both onGPS data appears to be useful and entertainingEditing and incorporating the data in the desktop app is intuitive and output can be adjusted for style, position and general content. Very pleasing.Stuff that I am unsure about or is less than ideal:My first impression (possibly user error) is that you have to re-pair the remote each time the camera is turned offEditing or viewing GPS stuff via the IOS app

Works flawlessly many modes turn on the camera with remote. Not sure about water proofing I don't need it for water or rainy days so for me it's a great buy.

Careful with the claim of IP68. Looks like a corner of the rubber on the cover leaked a bit into the USB-C charge connector and there is some corrosion (pictured). From Insta's description page:"The GPS Preview Remote is IP68 water resistant in water up to 4.9ft (1.5m) for 30 minutes.However, this product is not designed for underwater use like swimming or diving.Insta360 is not responsible for any damage resulting from underwater use, and the warranty will not be valid.Note: Wipe the product dry as soon as possible after contact with water, especially seawater. Dry it with a soft cloth, paying attention to the charging port. Ensure it is completely dry before using it again"Mine still charges by the virtu of USB-C's redundant VBUS and Ground pins (there are 4).I'm going to tape over the connector in the future. I used it windsurfing, attached to boom, not underwater but gets wet a lot.Otherwise once the blutooth connects it's pretty reliable and cool to have the GPS feature. Like all Blutooth it can be a bit fiddly.
