I ordered these for a stocking filler for our four year-old boy, thinking they were a lovely idea, not girly, wooden rather than plastic, and remembering the fun we had as children opening them up and saying 'oh no not another one' as the smaller and smaller ones appeared. However, although they are very nice, I do not think they are a toy for a small child. They seem fairly good quality, but instead of the screw-type grooves I was expecting, these just fit together with no grooves, to be pulled or twisted open and it was so stiff to open I had great difficulty doing it myself. I nearly kept them, hoping they would loosen up, but I could just imagine the disappointment and frustration when he couldn't open and close them himself, so had to send them back.

Rather disappointing as very small

I hadn't even considered this as a toy. That's because I bought it for myself and I'm a 58 year old Grandmother! :)I like to buy something Christmassy each year for the home, and this was my choice for 2010. I enjoy packing things away each new year, and then finding them again months later when Christmas comes around again. I completely forgot to review it, but was reminded by Amazon when reviewing another purchase today.Therefore my surprise when I was asked about this toys value educationally, for fun and durability.My five youngest grandchildren aged 18 months - 7 years loved it and all of them played with it. It's good for developing small motor skills. For learning the concept of size and shape. We did role play with a family of Santa's. Durability? It survived one season fully intact. I'm looking forward to sharing again this year.

This is a lovely item.I bought it for my grandchildren to play with at Christmas.The only down side is that they are very difficult to open. I couldn’t open the first one at all. My son opened it ( it made a terrible screeching noise it was so tight) and said he can do something with it to make it child friendly.The 6 and 4 year old will be able to play with it but not the 1 year old as the inside ones are tiny and would definitely be a choking hazard.Still pleased with it though for the older children.

Received item and very pleased with the excellent qualty. Would highly recommend. The only thing I can say is if ordering and they are for a present state this at time otherwise it may not be boxed. Also on reading previous reviews some say the dolls are a bit stiff to pull apart, I have not had this problem they were perfect.

Article de très bonne qualité et de belle finition. Jamais vu autant de poupées dans une poupées russe, il y en a 7 ou 8 en total jusqu'au plus petit "bébé". Un peu dur à ouvrir en premier temps mais je pense ça va passer. Un joli cadeau pour Noël pour les enfants qui adorent de mettre des poupées ensemble.

Je les ai depuis plusieurs années et ces pères noël russes n’ont pas bougé. Très beauproduit parfait pour la magie de Noël!

Je suis ravie de ce papa noel version poupee russe! Il sert de décoration et ma fille de trois s'amuse à les empiler! Double emploi!

très jolie matriochka père noel ma fille était ravie ça va l'aider à attendre noel tout en jouant. les poupées sont très bien faite elles s'emboitent bien et sont facile à défaire pour les petites mains des enfants

Très jolies poupées russes qui iront parfaitement pour votre déco de Noël.Un peu difficile à ouvrir/refermer au début mais rien d'alarmant, tout cela est normal!En plus, ces poupées russes plaisent beaucoup aux enfants!
