it came brand new, in wrapper and very reasonably priced. Dive shops will charge you much more, it's worth getting a dive manual before you go

Essential reading for a new PADI Rescue Diver and also great for revision for existing rescue divers and Dive Masters to be.

Good method of learning and revision

I had been reading someone else's PADI Rescue Manual, an older edition, but had to buy a new one so that I could fill in the Knowledge Reviews (no I didn't copy the answers!). Comparing the older edition with this one, I only spotted a handful of pages that had been updated. The layout and photos are exactly the same and I think, a little bit dated, a bit like the PADI Rescue DVD (which also has one of the familiar PADI annoying American voiceovers). However, this is great, informative stuff and it's a thoroughly enjoyable and useful course with lots of content; the manual prepares you well for the practical element.

Well written text. Expensive like all PADI products and manuals.

The content is good, but the book is not identical to the online learning materials that you work through as part of your PADI rescue diver course. This makes it less useful to thumb through when taking the test. But regardless: I still like to have a proper book complement online learning. I wish that PADI still included these in the course fees.

Received an older version with out the checklist.
