My chainsaw had become slightly less effective and I had been putting off getting a replacement chain - until I saw just how inexpensive they were. Replacing it was straightforward and there was an immediate massive improvement in cutting ability. Very happy.

Don't be tempted to buy a non-Bosch replacement. I did this and it stretched beyond use in a very short time. Don't force the saw or the chain will blunt very quickly. I have used this chain to cut through several large trunks and branches within minutes. Never allow the chain to catch on the ground, or worse a brick, nail or concrete. If you do the chain becomes unblanced will begin to vibrate in your hands or even jump its tracks as well as not cutting well or maybe not at all. Check and fill the oil chamber every few minutes also spray a little WD40 into the gearing and along the chain at the same time. Check and adjust saw tension at the same time. The chain will not last for ever and it is possible to hand sharpen them. I have tried this on two chains but the chain will never be the same and will blunt again after a few minutes. Not worth the bother as it takes about half to an hour to do it properly. Of course use protective gear on head, eyes and legs and never be tempted to cut above chest height or one handed. I use a helmet with a pull down face mesh. Always plan that the piece you are cutting will naturally fall away and NOT close up and pinch the saw or you could seriously damage the saw or yourself.

This is the second chain I have ordered after the first one which came with my chainsaw gave up the ghost. It lasted very well indeed. It managed to cut enough wood to supply our woodburner for the whole of the autumn and winter of 2011/12. This must have been many tonnes of wood. It easily cut through everything that I put in it's way from pine and beech to oak and cherry. It's a very good quality chain and quite easy to fit. Just make sure that the oiler doesn't get clogged up with sawdust as this will dry the chain and shorten it's life. So, with a little bit of maintenance you will get plenty of use. I reckon I've already saved the cost of the chainsaw, two chains and oil AND have a lovely warm house.

Good cutting speed and lasted well on thick hardwood logs. Just sad that inside the Bosch box was an Oregon pattern part made in China. They are cheaper if you just buy the pattern part as a non branded alternative for the Bosch chain saw.
