After using the SSK 1TB Portable SSD for several weeks, I’m impressed by how much power is packed into such a small device - it’s roughly the size of two fingers. It moves my large files fast - it backs up my computer in minutes. It's a highly capable external drive!

Available for a Black Friday sale price of less than US$70, this external SSD hard drive was priced competitively, so I bought one for my new Tablo TV device to dramatically enhance its recording memory. Two obvious advantages of a SSD drive are speed and no need for external power. I might add that this drive was surprisingly small; no larger than a couple of my fingers. When I plugged it into my Tablo TV device it was immediately recognized with an offer to format it for use. Once that was done, the device showed the total of both its internal memory and this solid state drive. Since then, this drive has performed flawlessly and occupies just a tiny space next to my Tablo TV device as you can see in the accompanying photo.

Overall, this is a great SSD with ample space for the price. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for an external portable HD that has a large amount of space which is great for holding any type of file. My main use for this HD was to hold music files I am transferring from an older HDD hard drive. Please see my list of pros and cons below. Pros: - Item is well constructed and has a quality feel to it. - Item is compact and has a key ring attachment making it easy for transportation. - Data transfer speeds are fast, making it easier to transfer larger files or a larger number of files at once. - Good price for a quality drive with ample space. Cons: I honestly don't have any cons at this time. The only possible con is that from what I believe, you can only format this drive as exfat and not ntfs.

Works well until it doesn't. Very small and decently fast data transfer rates. Purchased july 2024 and as of sept 2025 this ssd no longer works. This was used as a backup once per month, always ejected safely and stored in a desk. It now connects for a few seconds before ejecting itself. I'm unable to access the backed up data or run any disk repair on the ssd. The SSK site claims a 3 year warranty on SSD's, which after shipping back to them they sent a brand new ssd and paid for shipping. Hopefully this new one lasts longer...

small, light and very fast read/write speed!!

Purchased Jan 11, 2024. Today is Jan 31, 2026 and the device still works like day one. Crystal disk mark results show almost zero wear after about 1.5TB read/write total. Longevity shouldn’t be a concern. Transfer speed is unbelievable and consistent as stated by manufacturer using either of the included USB cables. No issues with compatibility transferring files between 3 windows 11 devices. Excellent value and incredibly fast

This portable SSD is definitely quick and convenient — the transfer speeds are solid, and the compact design makes it easy to carry around. It works well across different devices, and setup is basically plug‑and‑go. The build feels sturdy too, which is a nice bonus. The only reason I’m landing at three stars is that it’s not quite as seamless as I expected. The connection can be a little finicky at times, and the casing warms up more than I’d like during heavy use. It still gets the job done and offers good value, just with a few small quirks to keep in mind.

5年ほど使用した日本製のHDが急に動かなくなったため、会社のIT部門（海外）にお勧めの製品を問合せて急遽取り寄せました。本当に届くのか少し不安でしたが、予定通りに届きました。また、実際使用してみて転送速度はその前のHDに比べて「早い！！」と感じました。説明書に日本語での説明はありませんでしたが、差し込むだけですので。持ち運べるコンパクトな作りなのに、容量も普段の業務には十分な大きさでした。

Den skriver och läser bra och fort,men nått konstigt är det för när jag lägger över bilder från datorn till disken så antingen ligger dom inte kvar sen dom är helt borta eller så är några kvar och resten finns inte med eller så blir det tomma bild filer. Mycket märkligt.

I've purchased this twice now because I was surprised at how small and compact it is. Very good product, best external SSD I've bought recently.
