Milwaukee FASTBACK Compact Knife, and FASTBACK 6-in-1 Folding Utility Knives, w/Blade (knife 2pack) Red-black

I have owned my Milwaukee fastback for over a year now and I have used it daily for work and personal tasks, so I thought I'd share a review and add to the love for this knife. I purchased the two pack because, at the time, it was relatively the same price as buying one by itself. At first, I preferred the compact knife because of it's size; however, I quickly found myself gravitating to the 6-in-1 because it is so dang useful. I ended up giving the compact knife to a buddy, and, despite owning a whole drawer-full of "fancier" knives (e.g., Spyderco, Benchmade, Case, etc.) the 6-in-1 has become my daily that rarely leaves my pocket. It is a little bit on the bulkier side, but on par with other knives I've owned, lower profile than most standard utility knives, and I find it still sits in a pocket really well. I currently work in a warehouse, and this knife is a workhorse. When needed (which is often in my case), it deploys quickly with one hand, locks up securely, and it has held up to constant use breaking down boxes, cutting through various adhesive tapes, plastic, rope, and everything you can imagine. The screwdriver is highly functional and not just some gimmicky add-on. I've found myself using the feature often. The extra blade storage is convenient and blades swap out in seconds. The ability to simply swap out the blade when it gets dull is such an underrated, time-saving feature for someone always on the go. Not to mention, who doesn't love having a bottle opener readily available? Highly recommend, especially if your daily work requires a reliable utility knife.

Sturdy, simple blade changes, and good screwdriver. Complaints that these are now "plastic" are overlooking advances in plastics over the last couple of decades. These are not cheap, brittle plastic that will wear out within a few years. The blade holder, core, and mechanisms are metal with a strong, comfortable plastic handle surface. It is not a step back, it is a step forward. One handed opening takes pretty strong movements right out of the box, but closes with gravity. Watch your fingers! :)

I couldn’t find the Milwaukee switchback by itself so I just ended up getting the set. I’ve had this knife before but it was so great someone decided they needed it more than me. I own tons of knives but have yet to figure out how to sharpen them. I’ve tried for several years and still can’t get the edge where I want. This is the next best thing. Never have to worry about a dull knife. A pack of 100 blades isn’t expensive and they last forever. With the press of a button the blade slides out so you can switch them out. No more messing with screwdrivers and no more splitting the casing in half just to get to your blades. This also has a wife stripper which does come in handy. It has a Phillips and slotted head bit in case your in a pinch. I work maintenance so these come in handy. This is just a great all around knife and you get 2. I will also mention that there is a limited lifetime warranty. Not sure what all it involves but it is nice to hear. Lol. If you haven’t figured it out already then I’ll go ahead and say it. BUY THE KNIFE! It’s worth it and you’ll be glad you did.

Hi quality the Philip and flat screw bit are useful and could handle most of screw driving situations.

I use this box cutter, and the screwdrivers for my maintenance work just about every day. Opening the blade requires little effort to flick open. The interchangeable blades makes breaking down large boxes require little effort to slice through. When the blade dulls you can just buy a replacement. No sharpening needed. I find the screwdriver is incredibly helpful. Its an interchangeable Phillips/flathead set. I gave the spare blade to a coworker and they find the blade to be of good quality and carries it daily at work.

Great gift for hubby. He can now have one in his tool bag, one in the shop etc
