When put together it is very sturdy, if you have a hammer and a hard surface to pound on. There are no instructions.

Happy overall, but some holes too small for dowels
I really like this for my wine storage in a garage storage cabinet. No need for directions, as you just rubber mallet the dowels into the holes and keep adding. I bought several kits so I could design them to fit the space, i.e., 2 shelves are large enough for 12 across and 4 high while 2 are only 3 high. Works great, although you will have to purchase additional dowels if you expand it. I found a couple of long pieces in the local hardware store; quite cheap but I had to cut them to size. A small hand saw worked fine.HOWEVER, do NOT mix up the kits (if you get more than 1), as some of the holes & dowels are slightly different sizes. And the quality control isn't perfect: I ended up with 8 pieces with holes that were too small for the dowels. I just sandpapered the ends a bit to fit, but it did take extra time and effort. All in all, though, I am quite happy with the racks; they are quite sturdy and look nice.

Quality issue
The holes in the wood pieces are slightly undersized, so assembly of the dowels is very difficult. It took a large clamp to seat most of the dowels and the resulting wine rack is lopsided, so I relegated it to a closet. Dis-assembly would be next to impossible.

Not too bad a product worked well for me
I just moved into an apartment and I need something that would fit in a specific space. I purchased two of these. They worked well where I set them up. Some of the pegs were a little big for the holes but me and my trusty hammer were able to get it together.

Very cheaply made; part broken; I won't buy again.
I ordered the wood wine rack and discovered that it is not as pictured nor was it as useful as I had hoped. The wooden supports were basically square not hexigons, varied in size and shape, and one split with very little encouragement. The holes were drilled in different locations on each of the knotty wood supports making squaring the rack impossible. The dowels were nearly all the same size but some had ends that were sanded to slide into the holes and some did not. This really didn't matter much because with the split support I could not configure to hold 12 bottles anyway so I had extra dowels. I used a rubber mallot to encourage the parts together but it still is not as solid as I hoped it would be. I am going to have to redrill the holes and then glue the rack together to make it safe for our wine. No shipping documents were received with the rack or I may have sent it back. Pay more for better quality from another manufacturer.

12 Bottle Wine Rack
Perfect solution for a small space. It holds champage bottles on the top rack. A big plus.Strong and sturdy. The wooden pegs fit snugly.Needed a second modular rack for white wines to fit in a small space in the corner of a counter top.Easy to assemble with just a hammer once you figure out the order. Always add the next layer on the top of the prior layer and tap it down onto the pegs of the lower layer.

count your pegs
Update 1/2013: bumping from 3 to 4 stars because digiventions has started selling replacement pegs directly from their website. Ten pegs for $3.50, plus $3.44 shipping (to me).Original review:if you're buying more than one of these, be aware that (in my case, at least) each unit only includes exactly enough pegs to assemble itself as shown in the picture. as a simple example, to connect two of the pictured units side-by-side, you'll need eight more pegs than you'll have. your configurations may vary. 'digiventions' does not manufacture these themselves, so they do not have extra pegs to sell. when I contacted them I was instructed to "buy some doweling and cut it to size."other than that, it's sturdy enough, nice looking, and pretty simple to assemble despite no included instructions. I was able to hammer 1.8 units together with just the floor and the heels of my hands, although in hindsight I'd probably give that particular decision a one-star review.

I like the design and the ease of assembly
I ordered two and found the dowels a little large to fit the holes but they can be tapped into place with a mallet or hammer. I glued all the pieces that came with the kits and was short eight (8) pieces of dowel. I sent a message to the seller and have not yet received a reply. I like the design and the ease of assembly. I would consider ordering other kits to expand what I already have. Future purchases depend on what reply the seller gives to my message I sent.
