BOYS

Lovely simple story of best friends discovering their deeper feelings. Like any high school gay awakening some trauma, but surprising little and an undercurrent that once they recognise their feelings, it most likely will be accepted.

A very enjoyable film, worth purchasing. Great acting and great script work. No total nudity, which is a pleasant change, and subtracts nothing from the film.A lovely telling of a boy finding his way to manhood.There is one major flaw however, the poorly executed ending.They either ran out of time, money or ideas. The ending is completely flaccid and cliché compared to the great work done so far.The entire movie leads the viewer to the inevitable decision that has to be made by the hero, be true to yourself, or conform to social norms.Tension builds skillfully through the film as the viewer knows this decision is coming.SPOILER ALERTWhen the moment finally arises, we are left with a cheap shot (literally), and the triumph of good over evil, right over wrong, truth over façade… is left up to our imagination.The most powerful scene of the movie; Redemption… is simply “implied”!!! WTFPresumably because they couldn’t be bothered filming the last 2 minutes, and give the climax of the entire film the same care and attention given to the rest of it.Very disappointed by the handling of this ending :(

if your gay buy it loved it if your straight with a open mind you will love it

Again it's a good DVD Story But i seen this one B4 So i give "BOYS" 3 STARS:

I love this film so much! It's one I put on after a bad day with my GAD, or when I'm just very tired, and I can watch it all the way through and feel better. It's quite similar to 'The Way He Looks/Hoje Eu Quero Voltar Sozinho' (first love; very mildly angsty; reckless cycling done very cutely, but it's reckless, let me say!); self-discovery theme; one kiss changing everything), which is also lovely. Unlike a lot of other coming-of-age films I've seen with LGBTQ+ protagonists, this one has absolutely nothing to do with 'the struggle' or having to come out, which is refreshing. The cinematography is fabulous, especially in the scenes filmed on the beach; the music (incidental, diegetic and non-diegetic) is perfect, and the acting is superb! So much is conveyed through facial expression and body language, which might annoy some people (there are a lot of scenes with little or no dialogue), but which is one of my favourite things about this film. I took this to school in my laptop, and my friend and I watched it in our study breaks that day. We call it 'Legs/Benen', because of all the scenes where the characters run or cycle (both the leads, and most of the mains are athletes), and it just looks like leg-leg-leg-leg-leg-leg-leg on the screen. It's brilliant!

I found this a honest and tender film. A young cast acting and playing while having fun doing so.I think the struggle of " finding who you realy are" was honest in this movie. I also liked the running scenes in this flim. And then the first kiss between the two boys, so tender and moving! You can compaire it with another good movie: Beautiful Thing.If you like coming of age movies I realy think this is the right film. I just don't say anymore. Just buy and enjoy!The short movie: Even cowboys get to cry.Powerfull short about friendship! In fragmentaric scenes with little words, two eighteen year old close friends find out that friendship isn't always entirely logical. Just as you think it can't break, you provoke a fight, by which your friend get's involved. He get's hurt and comes in a coma in hospital. When he awakes out of the coma, your friendship seems to be changed forever.Young actors Ko Zandvliet and Jonas Smulders act superbly in this touching and moving short drama. I don't want to reveal the further content of this short, but it is a great addition to the Boys dvd release by Pecadillo pictures. You have to watch for yourself and find out, I'm sure you won't regret watching this short movie.

I would have given it a 5 star rating but the ending was too abrupt for my liking. An extra 60 second scene slotted in right before the final scene, would have made all the difference, especially since the film was only 76 minutes short!. From an audience perspective, the ending, as it is presented in the film left me feeling a bit flat and cheated after devoting 76 minutes of my time to watch the film.

A marvellous film but I hated it, om so many counts. The basic rules of storytelling, were thrown awayThe when why where and how all ignoredThe film name all wrong it jas very little to do with Boys. It's about a relay race, with the tiniest inserts of gay thoughts. Two lads kisses, doesn't constitute a gay themed film. How did iy come about, whem did they realise, how do they cope,. So many questions your son gets arrested for joyriding, then is given back his already confiscated moped, I think not From start to finish, it just doesn't make sense. It feels like making cookies plain, then you're told, it should be chocolate chips, so you imsert them, by breaking up some chocolate buttons. This director knows nothing about boys or gay ones. All that said, I enjoyed it and the soundtrack by Rutger Reinders, was amazingI guarantee you will enjoy this film but only because of the gorgeous boys, sceneries, amd usual cliché expected.

This is one of my favorite LGBTQ movies. I'm so glad to finally own it in DVD. I wish it was available on blu-ray. It's in Dutch with English subtitles. The visuals are striking. The storyline is simple & romantic. Most importantly, it has a happy ending, which is rare with this type of movie. If you enjoy movies about young gay love, definitely give this one a chance!

The movie itself is kinda the same storyline as most lgbt+ movies with this boy who’s scared of being judged and so on… The audio is in Dutch but it’s possible to watch it with English text😃

オランダが舞台。自分がゲイであることを受け入れられず、彼女を作ってみるも...という王道ストーリー。オランダでさえ田舎だとゲイは堂々とできないのかと思うと悲しい。主役の子は外見は可愛いと思いますが行動は二又男で、どちらの相手にも失礼ですね(笑)
