Great headphones but….
The headphones are excellent quality and value for money, I used them for an online test the day they arrived. The microphone is very handy and certainly better than my AirPod Pro mk2 mic in a test. The mic is not as good as my Apple Studio Displays multi array according to my colleagues at the other end. The Studio’s mics also sound cancelling and directional.I have a Rodecaster Pro with a Shure SM7B and use some of this setup’s audio enhancements for serious voice recording and to large audiences of students as I’m WFH with a broken toe at the moment. The recording system was my lockdown investment in 2020/21. The headset mic doesn’t seem to work with this set up (wiring and XLR etc).I have used the headphones alone with the Rodecaster and they are more comfy than my ‘go to’ AT 50Mx due the lovely ear cushions. On sonic accuracy, my Beyer DT 900 Pro Xs are better but cost a lot more. The Beyer’s are open back for down mixing and editing, they are not for content creation due to bleed. Maybe the closed back DT 700 Pro X would be a better investment but they are double the cost of the Rode and have no mic.In summary, the headphones are great and a worthy What HiFi all round winner on VFM, the mic is more for gamers, casual voice recording and conferencing. The mic is similar in quality to the cheap Rode Lavalier Go but nowhere near the PodMic and about a third the quantity of an SM7B ….but then that cost about £400 plus an in-line preamp. It would be interesting to do a comparison with the ATH-M50xSTS StreamSet™ but I’m not a professional reviewer, just a pro user.

Huge design flaw
Other reveiews were correct. The design of the headphones has a fundamental flaw. The feature that allows you to lock and unlock the headphones into place is just badly built causing unfortunate breaks in the lock. You don't need to do much. Just wearing them over a few weeks caused those cracks in photos and it makes wearing them impossible as they get super loose andngive a headache. The sound quality is absolutely top notch as you'd expect from RØDE and the mic is genuinely one of the sharpest. The clarity is crystal clear and highly useable for podcasts and content creation or just zoom work calls. Not good value for money overall sadly as the cost is very steep considering it's fully analog and the design limitations. Im returning my phones, wish Røde take those feedback into consideration for the next generation of these.

Not to my liking
The headset is comfortable, although I didn't wear it for hours. However, I didn't really like the sound. It might be my particular usage, but I wanted to use this as a second pair of monitor for pro audio, and compared to my Audio Technica ATH-50X which are much cheaper, it was quite underwhelming. I found I didn't get as much details. Maybe they are not intended for this purpose.I didn't go further and didn't test the microphone, so can't comment on that side
