This is a very nice clock. VERY easy to set up and change preferences. It has good reminders you can turn on like medication reminders, drinking water, etc, and options for personalized reminders if desired. Right out of the box as soon as I plugged it into the wall it had the correct date and time so that was impressive, it seems pretty straightforward with how to use it with bright clear lettering. Brightness automatically adjust to 20% for nighttime but can be personalized as well. I did have to read the instruction booklet which is in English and done well, to figure out how to create a personal short message "alarm/reminder". (There is no button to scroll through an alphabet to create a title but you can create one with a USB drive on your computer and then attach it to the phone and the alarm will show up with the words you want it to say). I added the sample picture from the booklet to my review pictures. My mom is 85 and starting to have some mild memory loss and I spent a little bit more to buy these because I love that it says morning afternoon evening BUT also has the different icons for morning evening and night time that show a sun, a sunset, a sun rising and the Moon. If her memory worsens she may not know whether it's 4:00 in the afternoon or 4:00 in the morning and this will help!! I bought one for her bedroom and one for her living room, she is perfectly able to live on her own at this time and we are trying to make sure she can remain independent as long as possible , but safely, and I think these will help. I love that there will be a daily alarm for her to remember to take her medicines and to even drink water and hydrate herself and also to do her light exercises. I am one of five children and the only one who lives anywhere near her the rest live a thousand miles away so I am the sole caretaker but I have lots of other duties like helping with our grandchildren and work. I'm really excited to get these set up in her apartment tomorrow and I can update my review when I see how they work for her, the intended user. With the remote control it will be easy for her to simply press a button and turn off the alarm or reminders, nothing confusing, and so I don't foresee any problems, in fact I'm thinking about buying one for myself to remind me to drink water and do my own exercises!! on top of any other appointments I may have. The alarms can be set for each day, once a week the weekend or 7 days a week. This will definitely help her as she forgets to look at the calendar some days! I personally think this is a must have for all seniors living alone past the age of about 75 or so . Buy it! :)

Definitely an excellent purchase. Large, easy to see display with numerous color and display configuration options. Automatically dims at night so it doesn't overpower a dark bedroom. Perfect for seniors (I'm 79).

What a nice, visible screen! They include a large, clear instructional booklet on how to set it up. I didn't realize there is no battery backup, though, so until it's plugged in where it will be used, I don't want to go thru all that, only to lose it when I unplug it to move it where it will live.

I bought this clock for someone elderly, and he LOVES it! All the great information inside the frame, easy to read, easy to see, great size, durably made. Yes, it does have an alarm clock, but he's past those years and doesn't use it. The buttons are very easy to operate, so that makes setting the clock very easy. I did find that I had to set it for the first time. I've bought other clocks like this for someone else, and when I plugged them in, they automatically set themselves. With this clock, I did have to choose the time zone (as all like this require) AND set it for the first time. Maybe that was a flaw with this particular clock I received?? Maybe not. Doesn't matter. Once it was set, it now finds the right time if it's unplugged for any reason.

I bought a Maxculux Digital Clock for an 88-yr. old friend who fell and sustained a brain injury that severely damaged her memory. She couldn't keep track of the days of the week or the month we were in. This digital clock is a powerful aid for her to anchor herself in time. And it is an attractive time piece that she displays on her TV stand and enjoys. It doesn't give her the feeling that it is a device for aiding the handicapped. In full and easy view from everywhere in her living room, where she spends most of her time, she can now keep track of the days, the date, the time, and she can match them to her wall calendar where she writes things down, helping her remember appointments and social events. It gave her back confidence that she isn't going crazy but simply has a memory injury in her brain. There are alarms that can be set on this clock to remind people to take medicine, eat a meal, take a drink of water, etc. My friend doesn't use those because she has other ways that she remembers such things. But I imagine it would be a very useful aid in that regard, too. And because it has an icon that indicates whether it is morning, afternoon, evening or night, it could also help those who get daytime and night time mixed up. I highly recommend this digital clock for anyone who needs help being oriented to date and time for any reason. It does its job well, and it is an attractive item to have on display.

BIG numbers and letters 😊 you can easily see the date and time from across the room day or night because it is lit up so well. When the time change comes, it changes automatically!!! A friend of mine had something very similar, and it is so practical, especially as we age. GREAT PURCHASE!!!
