Revisiting sport lock picking after a break of many years. This is a good beginner set, single pin picking is my preferred method, so I’m interested to try the rakes. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this set of picks for their quality and price.

Lovely picks better than them cheap Chinese knock off brands that snap in locks they take a bit of time to get used to but I have opened a few euro locks with them.i need to Google what some of the picks are for but apart from that there really well made and I love them. The real test will be when I use them out on the field opening a customer,s lock 🔐

I got this as it's a fun hobby to have and useful for when you have a lock but have lost the key. The product is well made and each pick is sturdy. There are no instructions, but there is plenty of info on Youtube to learn this skill. The 'Dangerfield' name evokes James Bond-esque vibes. It is on the pricey side (currently £39.99) but it is well made and if it means you can open a lock if you've lost the key, it's worth the money.

Made from stainless good and hard

The manufacturing quality of this lock picking kit appears to be reasonably good, with all the individual tools neatly contained within a compact wallet, although having "a cool thing to own!" on the barcode label of the outer wrapping does point to the novelty factor of the set. It took several hours of practise before I managed to open a relatively poor quality padlock, but no luck so far opening a cylinder lock fitted to a door. This kit certainly needs getting used to, and there's a lot of hit and miss thrown in for good measure, but as already mentioned, if you want a novelty item to play around with, this might pass the time of day for you.

Really nicely made little set of picks covering the usual different types of rakes and 2 tension setters at different offsets to make picking straightforward with one set. The metal used for the tools is strong and very nicely done with no rough edges and a polished finish making them good to use and reassuringly sturdy.I would say these are aimed at someone that has already bought a cheaper, flimsier set as a beginner and wants something a little better quality without getting too expensive, I'd class these as premium beginner tools for someone wanting to upgrade a basic set that they've outgrown and as such it makes sense there's no real instructions with these, if you want to know how to use this sort of tool there are thousands of tutorials online explaining in varying detail the basics and more advanced methods.
