Flutter and Dart Cookbook

Well organized, practical book on Dart and Flutter with key details about using with Google Cloud
I like the fact the book starts with the basics and builds in a logical progression. Some of the topics, like testing UIs, are new to me and I have to resist the urge to jump to the chapters on handling data assets and working with Firebase and Flutter. This book along with Rich's book on serverless is a great combination for rapidly getting up to speed in application development in the cloud.

An Okay Reference
I’m a backend/embedded developer. All the UI development I’ve done has been for hardware/developer/technician tools, and are quite simplistic and were completed with outdated tools. Wanted to make an effort to get my team on a more modern tool. Chose Flutter and Dart. Did the Codelab for the namer app direct from the Flutter Website. Then made my app based on that and google searches. Just doing that exercise (Codelab plus something on your own) covers a lot of this book. Honestly, at the very least up to chapter 9. I was hoping for more. Debated to give it a 3; it’s a decent book and in reviewing the content I already knew I learned more/filled in some gaps. Some of the diagrams don’t seem to match the code. Minor but can be confusing if trying to read along
