Silverline Desoldering Wire 2mm (512655)

Used to desolder surface mount it's. Used flux and a good quality temperature controlled weller soldering iron. Great job!

Solder braid is one of those things that's really hard to master. I've seen three different people using it, and each person uses it differently. My personal style is to push the braid onto the solder with the tip of the iron, and then wait for the braid to fill with solder from beneath, and then slowly pull the braid sideways, "wiping" away the melted solder.That works in a less-cramped environment because this solder braid is about 2mm wide. If your components are closer together than about 3mm, it gets a bit hard to use it like that, you have to go with the press-and-dab approach, which takes ages.This braid holds together really well, has good heat transfer properties, and sucks up the solder well once it get hot.

Sucks up soulder well but I don't think my iron transfers heat as well as it could. I think this is a great product and a must for electronic souldering. Would reccomend

Excellent wicking wire at a bargain price.This wicking wire is great for ‘mopping up’ all those pesky bits of solder.Whether you need it for fine work wicking, or to finish off what your solder sucker has left behind...this wire does it all!It’s a good all round width too...not too narrow, and not too wide. There’s also plenty of length on the reel...but at such a low price it makes sense to buy two reels!You really can’t go wrong with Silverline. It may not be the best brand... but this desoldering wire does the job without breaking the bank.

This does make removing solder a whole load easier. Don't know how I managed without it before.

Doesn't quite seem to flow solder as quickly or effectively as other well known brand. It is adequate, however.

Better than a desoldering tool. It picks up the solder perfectly..
