This log splitter is great and easy to use once set up, a great sturdy machine fit for its purpose. It has saved us so much time and splits the logs really well and is very easy to use with great performance. We split the logs after they have been stored for over 12-18 months.

Brilliant piece of kit, saves my back loads. I would really advise this for anybody with a small holding or land.

Awesome bit of kit and wish I had purchased one sooner. not only did I have a massive pile of logs ready for chopping up but a neighbour cut down a few trees on his land and offered me the trunks / logs FOC So ended up with half the back garden full of very large logs that needed cutting / splitting, did NOT relish the thought of doing the whole lot by hand so invested in this log splitter after reading the reviews. Spent a day cutting up the larger logs and then used this splitter to get them down to size, took all day but cleared the whole lot (would of taken me a month by hand) No issues what so ever with the log splitter, slight issue with the placement of the buttons but soon sorted that out (handy having an electrician as a mate) by moving the on/off power switch so your face isn’t directly in line with the splitting process. Great bit of kit and I am sure it will get a lot of use. It’s Now Dec 2021 so thought I would update this review. The Log Splitter has had a fair amount of work throughout this past year, it has managed very well with no major issues - Until this weekend : ( The main splitting section twisted and cracked the welds, basically rendering the unit useless. I have a very good friend that offered to repair it (Welder) and he has done a great job but he did say that the original pointed blade (the part that broke) would be susceptible to fracture and it needed a plate welding at the bottom to stop it happening. Anyway, its working again now and I am still happy with the machine : )

Works really well, no real negatives. I wish I’d bought one years ago. I got the version with the stand which saves a lot of bending down and I don’t use the cage or table, not really necessary.

I have been researching small log splitters for a while and kept coming back to the forest master FM5. I'm so glad I bought one as it's built like a tank and easy to use. If you're not sure wether to take the plunge just do it you won't be disappointed. the price is on point and I think it's great value for money. My only issue is the stand, It's fiddly to assemble and you have to remove parts from the splitter in order to mount it on the stand making it a semi permanent fixture. the splitter out of the box would fit in the boot of a regular car however not with the stand attached so if you need to move this splitter to different locations the stand will restrict it's movement. I think a small design change of the stand would really help. don't let this put you off the splitter itself is well worth it.

Arrived very quickly in one. day. Item seems very good quality. If ordering just the basic machine then st-up operation is a doddle. This came with the stand which is highly recommended. The safety cowling was a surprise and looks effective. However, it took me a few hours to assemble the stand and cowling, despite having sufficient tools to hand. Instructions were a bit vague in places (the manual seems to keep part descriptions to the end). Operationally, this machine does a good job and took care of several sizeable logs in quick succession. This machine requires a two-handed operation (lever and push button) which gave me concerns, as pushing the motor button and rear lever simultaneously requires bringing your face down to the exposed area of the machine. Hardly a safety feature! (I will probably re-site the motor box to comply with the 'keep distant' label on the cowling). The mains cable could be a bit longer and I need to extend that too. Despite these negatives, I am happy with the efficiency of this splitter and it looks good - early days yet though! Only had it 2 days.

Solid build and makes life a lot easier , instead of slamming away for hours with an axe ( and a sledge hammer when the axe jammed ) this machine demolishes heavily knotted tree trunk “ slices “ and copes well with various varieties of tree , … pine , sycamore , birch , poplar , elder , alder, chestnut …… hopefully it will last a long time ! ( not a complaint but the guard supplied could have been stronger )

It brillant and easy to use Rubbish assembly instructions. And very fiddly to put the stand together and the guard in fact annoying. But when the splitter in use it is superb make the light work splitting the logs. Very pleased with my purchase.

très pratique avec son adaptation pour travailler en hauteur , par contre attention car la longueur maxi est de 300 mm
