Are these actually in special edition packaging?

No they weren't but both boxes of chocolates were covered in a white film even though they were in date. Didn't affect the taste but didn't look nice. So glad I didn't give these as a present

hello , a good point, after eights contain a butter fat and so cant be called Vegan, they also contain palm oil and as you know this nasty stuff is what it responsible for rain forest destruction. I'm sure they didn't contain the nasty palm oil a few years ago. this will mean they are no longer on the present list or the eatable for most people concerned about the destruction to save a few pennies on the production cost of a once noble product. In the world of non meat eaters, if you ask do they contain meat or meat products, the simple answer is they contain palm oil that is a far greater threat to our human life on this planet. you could argue butter fat was a by product of milk and that nothing was killed to provide the milk, but, we know the calf's are destroyed for the milk trade. we know the mother cows are part of a milking process, induced with fertility products and artificially inseminated to produce more milk. a nasty trade indeed, but even that is mild in comparison to the destruction of the rain forest and all life in it. just for palm oil... only palm oil . and sadly that is now in after eights. those thin dark chocolate wonders once eaten with glee by vegetarians back in the 70s . and now.... not.
