No issues so far
I’ve had this feeder for about 2 weeks and I am really liking it so far. It took a bit of time to figure out how the portions work but it ultimately worked out. For the price, I think it’s definitely worth it as long as it continues to function this way for a while.I also really like the look of it. The metal bowl can conveniently be removed and cleaned. I don’t have a kitty that tries to get into food, so I haven’t had issues with her trying to get into the food storage area, but I do see how that could be a problem for other cats. I haven’t had any issues of her trying to knock it over. The bowl is decently sized, but my kitty is a messy eater so the food does go out of the bowl sometimes.Overall, I do think this is a good option overall.

Convenient for a routine feeding.
Got this for my cat as I work and am out of the house most of the time and I like for her to have consistent amounts of food at the same times because she enjoys having a routine. It's a good size on the smaller side so you do need to refill a couple times. It's super easy and straightforward to use and you can customize the amounts of food, times given, and how many times a day you want to use it. Also my cat is pretty smart and she can't figure out how to get into it...I make sure to only open it and stuff when she is not around because I don't need her learning how to do it. She has knocked it over a couple times buy no luck ! It's sturdy and sleek and I feel like it's not an eyesore. I like that it comes with a bowl. It's stainless steel so it makes noise when the food hits it. My cats will bolt from the other room when she hears food hit it. Overall this is a great feeder and my cat is happier and so am I. It's easy, small, sturdy and customizable. Exactly what I needed.

I mostly love it
I have had this for about 2 years. I found it to be difficult to set up initially but fortunately have never needed to adjust the schedule. It's been good, my only complaint is that it's supposed to have a red light when it's empty, and the light only turns red about a third of the time. My cat has medical issues and needs several small meals every day. So if I don't remember to check regularly if it's full, my cat will go...I don't know how long...without dry food. He also gets canned food, but if he doesn't eat enough in a day, he will spiral into medical issues quickly. I wish it was 100% reliable but for the price it's been pretty good.

So glad I found this
Very useful - and almost a necessity - for a cat that needs to lose a few pounds. We set the timer for a few times a day after having calculated how much she should actually be eating. Also helpful if you are at work and can't be home during the day to feed your cat. Easy to use, easy to set up and very sturdy. Our cat is very industrious (can open cupboards) but hasn't figured out how to bust this open.

Outstanding Value, Outstanding Product (So Far)
I formerly had a gravity kibble feeder, which allowed my cats unlimited access to dry Purina Cat Chow. One of my two cats is obese, so I bought this feeder to control the amount of food consumed.General impressions of the product:(a) Works great with Purina Cat Chow, and probably would with nearly all kibble foods.(b) Incredible value. This product has lots of material (molded plastic), electronics, and electromechanical elements. It is amazing to be able to purchase this at retail for around $40.(c) Seems to be well thought out in every respect. Not hard to program. Essentially, the product has a minimum portion (1/24 of a cup), and you just set times and the number of 1/24-cup portions to be dispensed at each time.I have nothing negative to say about the product. But there some thoughts:(a) I'm skeptical that the batteries would last 180 days as claimed. The device has a single LED that is always illuminated, and active electronics. I have not measured the electrical current consumption, but even at 10mA (assuming the engineers have done a REALLY good job), I calculate 150 days max. I would guess that either plan on changing the batteries 3-4 times a year, or use the batteries as a power fail backup (you can have batteries and wall power connected at the same time).(b) With my 2 cats (on a diet), the food reservoir lasts nearly two weeks. I think in a typical 1- or 2-cat household, refilling it once per week would be adequate.(c) As one other reviewer pointed out, when reassembling the portion of the product containing the moving partition that dispenses food, the locking tabs will engage in 3 positions, but only 1 position is correct (the 3 tabs are not 120 degrees apart). This is a minor gotcha. It has a reassembly (after cleaning) complexity similar to a kitchen blender.(d) The company claims to have a 2-year hassle-free warranty. Assuming that the company honors the warranty, this product is an incredible value. On a humorous note, there is a delay of a fraction of a second between when the product's motor starts (nearly silent) and when the food clanks into the stainless steel feeding bowl. I've found, after a month of exposure to the product, that one of my cats begins moving towards the feeder before I hear anything (she clearly hears the motor start). So, it has doubled as a cat hearing test. I'm convinced that one of my cats has outstanding hearing.

Reliable!
The battery lasts a long time and it’s nice to have power outlet option and use the battery only if needed. The amount distributed per meal is a bit random so you will likely need to weigh the food when setting up to figure out the amount of calories you are feeding. The bowl can go through the dish washer. I refill it every 1-2 weeks for my single cat. Great overall for the price, I have been using it for two years now with no issues.

Too easy to tip.
The feeder itself is great, but now after about a year of use, if there isn’t food in the dish, my cats just knock it over. This causes the lid to come off, and then they’re able to free feed. Much to their delight.
