SIEMENS EQ6 plus S300, Fully Automatic Bean to Cup Espresso Coffee Machine with Cappuccinatore milk system, 11 beverages, Ceramic Grinder, Large Touchscreen Display, TE653M11GB, Titanium

I bought this as a replacement for a Melitta T-Smart machine, which was nice but began to fail down to one simple bearing when it was 2.5 to 3 years old. I could not simply source this bearing anywhere or even the whole motor drive component containing the bearing, maybe a Brexit thing but some of the prices I did find were off the scale of an economic repair. I didn't get much help from Melitta, other than sending it to their approved repairers, that starts to become expensive. I am able to repair it but without the spares, I was drifting along that well travelled creek! They did offer to push the matter along to another department but I never heard from them - so if any Melitta folk are reading this & are offended....... After that I tried a Melitta Solo, that broke very quickly & was soon returned. I will include a few comparisons within my review. So I put my researching hat on & opted for a brand change. I've had the machine for coming up two months & I am impressed, it is simple to use, simple to adjust the plethora of drink options but retains the last used within any types of the drinks served. I only drink black coffee (hence trying the Solo) but I get 3 options, you can easily adjust the strength & size of each drink. I read some reviews regarding the milk temperature & initially tried warming the milk for 30 seconds in the microwave but after a spell the milk drinkers in the house stopped bothering & are happy with the finished article. Overall I feel the unit makes a good brew, it is easier to keep clean on it's insides when the brew unit has been removed. The water tank is of a good capacity, takes a little care to avoid spillages as it is wide & narrow, the filters last for 2 months & there is a nifty little slider on the water tank numbered 1 to 12 which you can move as & when the filter is changed. The water tank is on the left side of the machine so placement in your kitchen maybe a consideration. Overall size is similar to others out there, it only has rubber feet so you really need to lift it to move in order to clean around machine. Comparing this Siemens machine with the Melitta T-Smart had wheels on the back so you only need to left the front up too move it about, to get around this I had ordered a Coolina (Premium Sliding Board Glider for Fully Automatic Coffee Machine - Suitable for Siemens EQ Series - Made of Acrylic Anthracite) board from Amazon to sit beneath the machine, not the cheapest but one-off purchases are sometimes like that & they are quality products. **** EDIT - THE BOARD THAT ARRIVED WAS AS SMALLER ONE FOR A THERMOMIX & NOT AS STATED IN THE BLURB, THEREFORE I RETURNED THAT BOARD, THE CORRECT ONE IS OUT OF STOCK AND THE RETURN IS TO THE EU & IT LOOKS LIKE COOLINA DO NOT SHIP DIRECTLY TO THE UK, SO I'LL BE SCRATCHING MY HEAD ON THAT ONE FOR A WHILE. **** Water tank capacity is similar to the T-Smart but the the Solo was only small & you end up filling every other brew. The bean hopper is huge but only holds one type of bean, whereas the T-Smart holds 2 types so you can have mild / full-flavoured or normal / decaffeinated. However the ground coffee option, using a little pull out drawer on the side works better than the Melitta method but you do have to remember to use the bean strength button to select the ground coffee option, there is even a scoop slotted into the machine if you don't have one. I've given up drinking instant coffee, the cafetiere / French press option is fine for nice flavoured coffees but leaves you with a bit of a cleaning up faffage with all the wet grounds, not best to just pour them down your kitchen sink as they can collect in nooks & crannies, spread them around the garden yes but apparently they can be acidic towards some plants & on occasion it may just rain in the UK. Yes I am a coffee snob, I love buying a coffee whilst I am out & about from independent providers but I also like to drink nice coffee at home & I recommend this machine. I cannot comment on it's life expectancy but for now It is doing just fine, is fit for purpose & I am happy with the price I paid.

When I ordered this machine I had done a lot of research and I wasn't disappointed. The machine makes perfect hot coffee and is so easy to use. Once the initial set up is done which takes a while to test the water quality, install everything and insert the water filter. All of which takes about an hour. The choice of drinks is amazing. One thing to know is that it sometimes automatically cleans the milk system so if the hose is still in the milk it will put steam in it and make it go funny. So once you finish using it make sure to put the milk container back in the fridge. Its easy to clean and also running the cleaning programmes are simple. The drip tray does need emptying quite alot as it rinses itself after each coffee. All in all very impressed. Lots of functions and can change the size of your drink if its too small. Great value for money at the price I bought.

Bought this machine almost a year ago, so trust me, this review comes from someone who has put it through serious daily caffeine abuse. And honestly? What a hero. It only froze twice in all that time, and both times a simple “off and on again” sorted it out. No drama, no customer service calls, no tears. The machine is built like a tank but works like a butler. Super easy to use, even my in-laws figured it out on their own, which unfortunately cost me an entire extra pack of coffee during their stay. A heavy price to pay, but worth it. The taste? Absolutely brilliant. One button, freshly ground beans, and coffee appears as if by magic. You don’t even have to stand next to it. In the morning I press the button, go put my trousers on, and by the time I’m back, job done. If that’s not advanced technology, I don’t know what is. Honestly, if there was a Nobel Prize for making life easier, I’d nominate this thing. After coming home from a long trip with a headache and zero will to live, having coffee ready without grinding, waiting for a French press or frothing milk… pure bliss. Yes, it was expensive, but after everything it has done for me, and everything it has saved me from spending at cafés, it’s basically paid for itself. Highly recommended if you enjoy good coffee and minimal effort.

Packing was not over exaggerated, polystyrene inserts to hold machine in place, would have preferred cardboard. Machine itself looks good slightly varied from the machine advertised, "No Fancy Lights". stainless steel drip tray but the rest is very plastic. Titanium name does not really fit. No complimentry cleaning tablets was also a disappointment. Easy to set up and turn on. Lots of different variations of coffee with hot water and hot milk, which is easily dispensed. Works very well, easy to clean, a lot less waste than a typical barrista style machine. Coffee was hot, I did not use chilled milk though. The milk container is well made but difficult to push the wand into place. I hope in time this will settle in. I have placed a coat of olive oil on the outside of the wand giving it a bit of lubrication. overall Im happy with it. I paid £449. I did expect more from the build, less plastic.

Awesome machine ...

I was really looking forward to using this machine. It makes decent but luke warm coffee (despite heating the cups 1st). However it leaks, maybe I am unlucky. But the drip tray was constantly needing emptying according to the machine. It goes through a cleaning and run through cycle every time you switch on when it switches off. Despite putting a glass underneath the spouts to catch the water the drip tray ‘warning’ kept asking for it to be emptied even when there was little or no water in there. Water leaking onto the worktop was a constant issue & as a consequence the water needs constantly topping up. returned after 2 weeks for a refund. Disappointed this is not normal Siemens quality.

I have had this for a few weeks now and thought i would say my thoughts, So good and great stuff: this will automate your coffee and be a button press rather than actually having to be a barista and make the whole coffee yourself, which is exactly what i wanted, bean to cup without donning my apron and have a nice day smile, great tasting coffee (nice beans a must) and the wife likes all her milky stuff coffees Mundane stuff: you will need to empty drip tray and fill it with water relativedly regularly, you will find as a work around you have a dedicated drip jug, mine sits with a tea spoon in, to catch waste and then stir in between coffees, if this was a water dry world similar to tank girl this would have been thrown out the window long ago, it likes to clean water nozzles when you switch on and when you switch off, hells sometimes it just throws some water out there for the hell of it, but dont let that put you off, A clean handy jug makes refilling it pretty easy as it opens to the side, and you can just top the water up when you need to I tend to put milk frother "proboscis?" straight into the milk bottle as this saves some clean up and it takes what you need. Coffee grind waste goes straight on our veg patch Coffee grind strength goes from "mmm coffee" to "omg jittery mess" very quickly play with settings to default perfect size and strength coffee as you like it Money wise I thought it was a good average level for this style of machine to pretty happy with it, savings on it have already been made, from not buying pods and then recycling the pods, beans can be much cheaper than the packs I was buying It is about 45cm tall so check your counters and cubhoards for height, but it pulls out pretty easily to refil beans and i refill every 5-7 days or so

Great machine and easy to use. I like the fact that you simply stand a jug of milk next to it and also the quick rinse program. This is a great machine. It does everything it says I couldn’t be easier to use. The downside is even on the hottest setting none of the drinks are hot enough. We end up boiling the kettle to warm the cups and then microwave the coffee afterwards. I would not buy this machine again.
