Q: I don't know what a fresh scent is. What kind of aroma are they talking about? If it's just a clean aroma then this is not for me.

yes this has a clean aroma. And there is a bout in the scent with dryer sheets. It has the clothes smelling good for about 6-7 days if in closed in a drawer or tote it will last for weeks.

Q: Is this safe for use with septic systems?

I looked it up in google and this is what I found “Downy Unstoppables In-Wash Scent Booster Beads, Fresh Scent, 375 g ... evaluated and are safe to use in homes with a properly functioning septic system.”
