Lots of comments about these things not lasting 10 years. Will I get my money back if they don't last the full 10 years?

If we can't help you get the unit working, we will honor the warranty based on the date of receipt if you have the receipt ready to email to us or based on the date of manufacturing as a backup.

How do I replace the battery?

You can’t. It’s disposable when battery dies.

Do these smoke detectors talk to one another? I want to order 4 of them.

Hello. No. This alarm does not interconnect or communicate at all. You will want the P4010DCS-W alarm.

Can I put this in a central location

The safest thing to do and what fire code states is that you have one in each bedroom, one in the hall outside bedroom(s) and at least one on every level of your house. I have a two story 4 bedroom house. I have 7 detectors. 1 in each bedroom 1 in the hall outside the 2 sets of bedrooms and one downstairs. My downstairs detector is smoke/carbon monoxide. Don’t put a detector in or near the kitchen and try to keep them away from bathrooms...shower steam can set them off. If u have any gas burning appliances or a wood stove u should made a hall or central detector a smoke/carbon monoxide detector
