Staying connected
Needed this as my smart tv is too smart for its own good, it doesn't have a headphone jack or red/yellow audio connection and I needed to get my audio from my gaming console to my x rocker audio chair. Yes I could use the headphones jack on controller but wanted it for headphones, yes I could have used Bluetooth receiver n sent audio from TV to chair but you get delayed in speaking (lip sync) sometimes. This is perfect for me. I got anither hdmi high speed cable and 1 goes from xbox one s to this hdmi audio extractor the 2nd hdmi cable goes from this extractor to my smart tv, then I run red/white audio cables from this extracter to my x rocker chair. I didn't need to plug this hdmi audio extractor into a wall socket or extension as it comes with a USB lead that I simply plugged it into USB on tv. Thinks its a fantastic device and works perfectly for me. Would definitely recommend if your after something like this.

Great!
Does exactly what i needed it too. Had it hooked into my sky box and linked to another small car amp to run some out door speakers for a BBQ. did the job and will use it again.

Extracts good audio
Purchased as our Blue Ray player only has HDMI socket and needed to feed audio to powered speakers. Found audio extracted from the HDMI to powered speakers of the same quality as if HDMI was sent direct to the likes of a TV. We feed the HMDI video from the output of the extractor to the DVI socket on a digital projector, it has no HDMI input. The only way to get the projector to display is ensure it is the very last item to be powered up, otherwise only a bleary ghost of an image is displayed. As long as you know this the video is also of excellent quality. Just a little annoying, especially if the blue ray player gets accidentally turned off, you then have to power the projector down, power up the player and finally the projector to regain the image.

Not a techy, but it does what it says it will
Don't know if I'm qualified to give it a top-notch review, but it worked for me.

The description is 100% incorrect in regards to audio volume management for SPDIF Toslink output.
The description is 100% incorrect in regards to audio volume management for SPDIF Toslink output.Extracted Digital audio output (Toslink) HAS NO volume level adjustment. Thus these data "【Support Volume Adjustment of 3 Audio Output Simultaneously】the knob Can Adjust the Volume of 3 Audio Output at the Same Time(L/R + 3.5mm and SPDIF), Also Can Avoid a Too Low Audio Output when Only Connnect 3.5mm Headphone Device Alone" are wrong. Other functions are working well, but you can buy same or similar for half of price.

Great value bit of kit
Great value bit of kit. I was especially happy to discover that it was powered by the HDMI in, I didn't realise that when I bought.

Strange Blue tint without manual intervention.
This was a necessary product for me since the new AppleTV 4K only has its audio out over the HDMI.Upon un-boxing and setting up this device I was initially pleased, it is small and appears pretty well built. It has all the functionality I was looking for - and the volume control is a nice touch.Unfortunately - and the reason for only 2 stars - is that every time I wake the device there is a horrible bluish-green tint over the whole image which does not go away unless I manually flick the switch on the device over and back again. Even if the HDMI cable is removed and re-inserted the problem remained until the switch was toggled. The device was being used with known-good cables and the picture behaves as expected when not being used with this device. This makes the product extremely hard to recommend since every time I want to watch something I must manually go up and basically reset it. It's a shame as other than that it would be perfect.Who knows, perhaps I just got a bum unit, but at £18, I expected much better.
