Very good larger AC
This is a big boy so make sure you have some help getting this in the window. Installation is pretty easy if you follow the directions. I got this unit for my mom's bedroom/dressing room. It cools the space easily and does it without much noise. She like the app to control the unit before coming upstairs for the evening, it works well and is easy enough for an older person who is not tech savvy. Highly recommend this unit.

19 inch window height minimum for the large unit. Install with a downward tilt to the exterior.
Measure your window opening height. Do not rely on the product dimensions in the listing. The product box says the window opening must be a minimum of 19 inches for the 2-ton LW2422IVSM! My 32x32 garage window did not open large enough so I permanently removed both sashes to install the unit. I built a new internal window frame from 2x4 pieces. Because the unit weighs over 100 pounds, I first purchased and installed the Ivation Support Bracket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZH178M which was pretty simple. Some small support brackets are included with the air conditioner but a sturdy external bracket gave me piece of mind and reduced the possibility that I would drop the whole air conditioner out the window during installation. The guts of the air conditioner slide out of its cabinet and the empty outer shell is next installed in the window. Then the air conditioner guts are slid into the installed cabinet. This is a good method so that the lightweight cabinet can be adjusted and secured. The unit should tilt down slightly outside -- about 2 degrees or 0.5 inch slope -- so the condensate will drain properly. I removed the side curtain guide at the top of the cabinet and did not install the included side curtains. I chose to cut 0.25 inch clear polycarbonate sheet to fill the rest of the window opening. 0.125 inch polycarbonate sheet would probably have been adequate. Initial startup had about ten seconds of troublesome fan noise which disappeared on its own. Now the unit is very quiet and blows super cold air. Super cold! The controls on the unit and on the remote are simple enough. The installation instructions were understandable.

Whisper quiet with quick cooling
I seldom write 5-star reviews, but this is honestly one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I’m so glad I decided to buy this AC - it works like a central air system: whisper-quiet yet incredibly powerful. Gone are the nights when my entire wall would rattle from the old unit, or when I could hear the compressor roaring from the next room. This deserves a FULL five stars! The app is the cherry on top.

Extremely Disappointed – Received a Damaged and Obviously Used Unit Sold as New
The media could not be loaded. After doing a lot of research, I ordered a window air conditioner that seems to me a perfect option although the most expensive of the units I reviewed. I choose this brand and model because it fit my needs, had excellent customer reviews and because the new dual inverter technology found in the description.I ordered the LG Dual Inverter Air Conditioner (Model LW1022IVSM) for a 450 sq ft room, expecting a brand new unit in excellent condition. What I received was deeply disappointing and has left me frustrated and upset. A Quality Control department would have caught this. I have multiple LG products in my home and have always been satisfied with their products, until now. When the box arrived, I noticed some external damage (compressed areas and tears in the cardboard), signs of poor handling during transport; yet, not a big deal. I still opened it with hope, assuming the internal protection would keep the unit safe. To my surprise, the areas where the box showed damage actually revealed an AC unit in good condition. However, the real issue was in the areas where the box appeared completely intact: the unit itself was visibly damaged.Multiple torn sections and a larger compressed section (the size of a credit card) in the condenser coils, clearly not something that would come from manufacturing. The motor also makes a very audible, loud clicking noise on any fan speed or mode of use. The motor sounds taxed and obviously not working as it should.Chipped painted on the front, top portion of the metal casing, indicating it likely took a hit. Some scratches and adhesive were on the bottom of the unit, consistent with signs of prior installation and handling. The evidence I saw strongly suggests that this air conditioner was a used unit that was returned, repackaged and shipped to me as if it were new. I paid the full $449 list price, which I rarely do; yet, the 4.4 rating spurred me to make the purchase. I usually never write reviews; however, this is just completely unacceptable. This experience has disrupted my weekend plans, forced me to set aside time I didn’t have to deal with a return, and delayed an important installation. It’s not just about the damage, it is about the sense of being misled. I didn’t receive what I paid for, and that is incredibly disappointing.I am returning the unit, not only because it doesn’t function as advertised, but because I expect honesty and quality from a well-known manufacturer and a purchase marked as "new." I sincerely hope Amazon and the seller take steps to ensure this doesn't happen to others. No one should have to go through the hassle of a return because someone thought they wouldn’t notice the difference.

Solid AC with Strong Performance, but Too Bulky for 8,000 BTU
I purchased the 8,000 BTU version of this air conditioner and was surprised to find that its exterior casing is exactly the same size as the 14,000 BTU model I recently helped my friend install. It seems like the manufacturer is using the same large housing for both units, which feels excessive and bulky for the smaller capacity. That was a bit disappointing. That said, the performance is excellent. It cools well, runs relatively quietly, and I especially like the built-in dehumidifier feature. Connecting it to Wi-Fi was quick and simple, even though the instructions don’t explain how to do it — luckily, I had no issues figuring it out.Be aware: it’s heavy — nearly 97 lbs — so take that into consideration if you’re lifting it yourself.

a great, quiet AC
12K BTU. fantastic. had a noisey standard AC that I replaced. Yes this is more $$ than a standard AC, BUT its inverter compressor so its super quiet, its strong and cools my 600 sqft aprt down nice and steady. Can direct air 2 seperate directions, and uses a standard 120v wall outlet (US customer). easily connects to wifi and has schedules etc in app. a great purchase. Its heavy to make sure you have help installing.
