Worth the price and is well built
The media could not be loaded. Seems quite sturdy and is lightweight. Bought for my Garrett pro pointer 2 (handheld metal detector) so I don’t leave it on the ground and forget about it after use. I was debating about getting the 25key model that is heavier but I figured I didn't need it. For the price it seems like a great deal. The kelvar rope seems sturdy but I would not expect it to hold up if it is making contact with abrasive surfaces. That may be why other users are having problems.

Life saver!
I'm a delivery driver and keep my van keys on this attached to my belt. No more putting my keys down and forgetting where they are! Strong and sturdy. I had to replace it after about a year but it was getting very heavy daily use. I bought another one immediately.

Durable under heavy use
As a delivery driver getting in and out of the van hundreds of times a day, this is perfect and durable to keep hands free when not driving, just slides up to your waist. Been using the product for many years and highly recommend. It does break eventually as many other products but it does outlast all of them available as I have tested few of them. The ring hole from plastic to actual roller should be better if tied up better but even if it breaks up then can tie it back to use again for months.

Great key reel for emergency services or those prone to losing keys or passes!
So, you work in a job where it’s really important that you don’t lose either your keys or your work pass, or some other knick-knack vital to your role? I do, and I have lost a key or two in my time. That’s where this little key retracting device comes in. Now, I say ‘little’ but this thing is actually pretty large for a key reel; I hope this is to house some fairly substantial innards. The housing is made from black textured plastic, and is stamped with both the brand ‘KEYBAK’ and ‘Made in USA’. A motif of a US flag curls round the ‘K’ of ‘Keybak’. It all feels very robust and, well, American. On the back of the reel, a leather loop is riveted in place. It passed the ‘tug test’, giving nothing to repeated attempts at dislodging it. This loop is large enough to fit on practically any belt, including police and ambulance belts, which are 2” wide. The packaging of the product features a little US cop badge with ‘Duty Gear’ above it, further hinting at the heavy duty nature of the unit.In order to extend the business-end of the reel, the user must first unclick it from a little notch in the plastic of the reel housing. This prevent catching the reel or keys, overextending the cord and messing up the spring. Once unclicked, the cord extends to beyond arm’s length. Essentially, this device does not limit the user in how far away they can use their key or pass, as you’d run out of arm before you run out of reel!Once you have finished using your key or pass, you can let go to retract the key or put the keys back gently and click them back in their notch (recommended). The retracting force is quite powerful, owing to what must be a fairly strong spring; if you let go of your keys you may get a bunch of flying metal close to where you really don’t want it hitting...This key reel is definitely a substantial bit of kit. The little key reels and pass holders you are probably familiar with are extremely fragile, using only a flimsy spiral spring. This feels like it houses something far stronger. The only reason why it drops a star is the plastic construction combined with the distance it sticks out from a belt may make it a bit more vulnerable to damage. Otherwise, great bit of kit and well recommended for any person in a job where retaining your keys or pass is essential.

Best keyring I've ever had
I ordered this recently to replace my old keyring, which was wearing out after five years of heavy use (I had to buddy that one up and attach a second keyring in the final few months to support the increasing weight of extra keys).Anyway, I bought this one having read good reports about it on Amazon. I should mention though, that this keyring isn't made by Baracoda - it's actually built by a US company called Key-Bak, and are shipped over from New York.I've had it for about two weeks now, and I've noticed it's considerably stronger than my previous two combined keyrings. I quite like the ability of being able to 'lock' the keys in place when the cord is retracted, which is done by clipping the attachment into the body from the side. This is particularly useful for me, due to my large key collection. The only thing I would say, is that the cord is VERY long. I'm over 6' tall, and even when the keyring is attached to my belt, reeling out the cord to its full length allows the keys to touch the floor, so it's a good thing I can lock them in place! If you don't mind waiting a few days for delivery, I would say it's very much worth paying for.
