Really good
If your child is taking Maths Edexcel International GCSE, then you need this book. Everything is explained in a simple manner and easy to follow to ensure that anyone could get a really good understanding of the material. Plenty of examples that explain step-by-step how to solve each question; exercises; answers; mini tests and mini summary at the end of each chapter for quick revision; challenges and fact finders. This book would be really helpful if you struggle with Maths in general or if you just need help with some specific topics. It would be really helpful if you just want to make sure you pass your GCSE Maths exam, but also if you are aiming to get a high result on the Higher Tier Paper. Our school did not provide this book, but my daughter insisted she would need it for her revision as some things were not covered in depth at school. This is Book 1 out of 2, so you will also need Book 2 to cover all topics for the exam.

Outstanding
This book (unlike others by Pearsons) is outstanding. The subjects are well organised, the exercises intelligent with normal and advanced ones, the questions are interesting and stimulating and get the kids to think about what they’re doing and why these subjects matter. A great book.

Well laid out and easy to follow
Used for Home-education to take my son through his IGCSE Maths exam in Jan 2021 - he is 14 and got a 7 using this, so now using it for my other son!Really liked the layout. Each chapter builds on previous knowledge, has a revision section and exam style questions. This is for Foundation AND Higher. Exercises are either a number (eg 1, 5, 7) for Foundation or a number with a star (eg 1*, 5*, 7*) for Higher. There are also questions printed in green which are for those aiming for top grades so we always made sure that these were attempted.Answers are all in the back of the book for the exercises and the exam questions, but be aware, some of the answers in the back are incorrect - hence we docked a star, cause sometimes we wasted time trying to work out how they got the answer when it was just incorrect. The review summary at the end of each chapter proved invaluable for a kid who does not like to write revision notes, like my son!! We just photocopied all of those pages to review, and when he felt confident in a section we turned that page upside down/back to front at the back of the folder (now means I have them all ready for son no 2).BOTH books 1 and 2 are needed. These are very thorough.

Average quality
Good source of practice questions, however the chemicals evaporating from the paper are affecting my eyes when reading it.
