I recently purchased this player and overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance and functionality. As someone who enjoys watching movies and wants to enjoy the high-definition experience, this player has served me well. Setting up the player was fairly straightforward. I connected it to my laptop via USB, and it was recognized without any issues. When it comes to picture quality, the player delivers decent results. Blu-Ray discs play smoothly, and the visuals are sharp and clear. One aspect I appreciate about this player is its compatibility with various disc formats. In addition to Blu-Ray discs, it handles DVDs and CDs without any problems. I've also used it to read data from Blu-Ray data discs, which has been convenient for accessing files and backups.

This may be my first one-star review. But, I figured it would best be put on the record.I really wanted this to work! I hear the disk spin up, but my mac is not recognizing the disk: Macbook Air M1, 2020, Ventura 13.3.1. Tried Music CD, Burned CD-ROM, Install CD. Plugged in extra power with different adapters.The manual stated: System Requirements...MAC...PowerPC G5 or Intel Mac. But this was not stated in the Description. And one reviewer said that it worked with their M1.Also note: There's a power-boost cord in case the device is not getting enough power from the computer. There's a good chance that it will be needed. But the cord is quite short. So you'll need to have power (USB A adapter or powered plug) within about 18 inches of the device, or a longer mini-usb ended power cord.No Blueray software included -- but that didn't matter to me. I was ready to purchase that separately. My core need was for Music CD's, CD-R Data CD's, and CD-R Installation CD's.I considered getting an even exchange -- but I really don't have time to act as the company's quality control. (Just a fact -- not angry or anything like that. )Oh well -- it was worth a try. I can't fault Amazon's speedy Prime delivery at all!

This is your standard Blu Ray optical reader / writer. I've tested it with CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R and Blu Ray and all have worked and written properly. Despite what the review says, my burner worked fine with DVD+R discs albeit much slower than DVD-R as DVD+R must be authored.The build quality of the burner is decent, I haven't experienced any issues, jams or malfunctions. The cable is nice and has USB-C support for smaller laptops as well as a USB 3.0 cord for desktops and larger laptops.It's a bit noisy, but that's expected.

I was looking for a BlueRay compatible DVD drive for my desktop computer. This seemed to fit the bill and was affordable. Upon installing, you have to download BlueRay drivers and software to make it work. The directions don’t direct you to what to get. Two tries so far and not successful. It does work fine for playing and recording regular DVDs.

Works well on my Omen Desktop. The software was too outdated to play any movies but, VLC media player was able to recognize the disk drive and play the movie, so it was successful. As it says it doesn't work on projectors overall good.

My new laptop doesn't have a cd/dvd drive and this was the perfect solution for when I need to install software from disc. It worked right out of the box on my Windows 10 desktop and my Windows 11 laptop. I was able to read and write cd's directly from file manager, no drivers or software was needed for this. I installed the free software, Any DVD, and was playing dvd movies in just a few minutes. I didn't really need a BluRay player but it's nice having this ability in a portable package. It's a little "beefier" than what I thought it would be and doesn't seem too fragile. The USB-C connectivity is a HUGE plus. This is a very nice addition to my portable computer equipment.

The purpose for buying this drive was to be able to rip, make an exact digital copy of my, old DVD movies and TV-shows that have not even been remastered to Blu-ray, and then my Blu-ray movies and TV-shows, that have still not been remastered to UHD. Then using Topaz Video AI 5, I would remaster them all myself to UDK (4K). I have two fairly new and powerful Laptops, both running latest version of Windows 11 64-bit. Connecting this drive to either, although it could read DVD-R's I had burned with videos myself, it was unable to read a single copy protected DVD. Yes I used a separate USB power cable. After that disappointment, I did not bother trying a Blu-ray disc. I immediately returned this drive, and tried a 7-In-1 Drive with USB hub, however that was not even recognized by either Laptop. I also returned that one. Finally I got the ASUS BW-16D1HT and Vantec NST-536S3-BK NexStar DX enclosure, and Eureka it's reading all the disc's I tried so far!

I was wanting an external drive since basically every computer nowadays no longer includes one.The bonus here is that this thing also writes bluray discs which is a great data storage feature.Overall this thing is a great product at a great price for when I need to bust out an old disc for my current computer.
