Faulty screw mechanism... Be careful buying it...
I bought this for my SL1 and it worked fine until the screw mechanism broke INSIDE the unit. Now the wheel just spins freely and I had to cut the whole thing off with a hacksaw carefully so it wouldn't damage the camera. I have recommended this unit to a few fellow photographers to purchase but now I think Im going to have to warn them about this potential issue. I should have read the reviews before buying it. ALSO now my OEM Canon battery wont fit in the battery compartment because the attachment bent the clip!!! Only way now is to buy another but hopefully Powerextra will do right and fix this issue. I will update when and if hear from their Customer Service Department.

Good battery pack.
Purchased this pack for my canon sl1, it worked quite easy. One the first try it froze the menu buttons and I could only shoot with flash and could not see the picture on the screen, I unplugged it and started the camera again and that cured it. It did make my camera much heavier but I rather have a heavy camera than run out of battery, so it's a give and take. I used my lithium battery packs. It's a good accesorie to have when you think you'll be shooting a party or something. I'm happy.2 years later it is still doing its job!

Poor build quality and engineering
After the first time attaching this grip to the camera the transfer gear inside the that provides the tightening of the 1/4 20 to the bottom of the camera came out of its position and I was unable to unscrew and remove the grip. I had to push a small screwdriver into the small slot the tightening wheel sits in to manipulate the main gear to unscrew it. I disassembled the housing for the gears, reseated the transfer gear and attempted to attach and reattach the grip. Again, after attaching the grip, the transfer gear fell out of place.I would not recommend this battery grip if you plan on switching out your memory cards at all while using it. Spend a little more and get a slightly higher quality grip.

Buy It! You won't regret it! Worked with Canon Rebel SL1 (100D)
I am giving it five stars because this battery pack has greatly improved my battery life. Did I mention that it even comes with a remote which is great for the price you are paying! I am now able to not worry about doing long photoshoots since I have 2 batteries and dont have to worry about stopping the photoshoot and changin batteries.

Great for the money
Gave me so much more battery life and it is also much easier for me to change batteries on my Canon SL1 even when it's hooked up to my DJI Ronin. It's does feel cheap to hold, but it's also a very inexpensive solution so I wouldn't expect it to feel solid like $200 battery pack.

These are pretty minor, and I would never have been able ...
Had about a month, works very well. Much more affordable than some others. 2 minor downsides: To remove sd card must unscrew from camera (takes about 10 seconds). To use the vertical shutter grip, it has a little cord you plug in the camera. These are pretty minor, and I would never have been able to afford the Canon version, so 5 stars.

I also like how a grip makes the small SL1 more robust
Filming with my SL1 in Live View eats up my battery rather quickly. Having the additional battery in the grip really extends the time I can shoot. I regularly shoot hour long videos with two batteries in the grip and still have power left. I also like how a grip makes the small SL1 more robust.

... bit less solid than the Nikon ones but works fine so far
Seems a bit less solid than the Nikon ones but works fine so far. Been using it for a few weeks now and quite happy with it. Only complaint is that the double AA battery holder is extremely difficult to get batteries into. I mostly use it with the Nikon batteries, though, so that hasn't been a real problem. But if you want to use the double-AA adapter, be forewarned.
