My daughter loves her lava lamp. She doesn’t like sleeping in the dark and this lamp help illuminate her room enough. We love it.

I originally bought this glitter lava lamp for my daughter and for her bedroom, possibly even as something to fall asleep with (like a nightlight), but it runs much too hot for me to feel comfortable doing that, especially overnight. While they picture it as a gift for kids and even have a picture suggesting using it while sleeping, I would not recommend using it for either of these things.In the very title of the product it says "for Adults and Kids", and I do not feel this product would be safe for use around children, let alone left in a kid's room, even if it's off (please keep reading to see why, especially if anything leaks out). This is why I rated this product with only 3 stars. If it was marketed for Adults only, I would have given it more stars, but marketing it toward Kids could be downright dangerous.Don't get me wrong... It is a beautiful lava lamp, and when plugged in the glitter flowing up and down make wonderful designs on the wall and on the ground in the dark. It starts to flow and move almost immediately after turning it on, since it warms up quite quickly.My cat thought it was fantastic and was transfixed by it for quite some time. But there is a warning sticker on the front of it that says not to touch it while operating it, and this is because it can get quite hot.Also, if for some reason it breaks, the liquid inside should not be touched and it has special precautions to take for clean-up. So this is definitely not meant for use in children's bedrooms, especially young ones. While my daughter is quite responsible for her age, I could still see something like this getting bumped and broken by accident, and I wouldn't want her coming in contact with something that could harm her, even if off.The description mentions a motion sensor, which does not exist on this lava lamp, plus that would be a strange feature to have on a lava lamp, in my opinion. It does have a switch on the cord to click the lava lamp on and off though.The aluminum bottom of the product is quite thin and lightweight, and doesn't seem to balance out correctly to be able to hold the weight of the heavy glass portion, which makes it a bit tip-prone, in my opinion. The heavy glass portion just basically balances on the lightweight bottom portion. Again, not the best product for use in a child's room.The top aluminum cap part also does not stay on very well, and the slightest bump makes it fall off, since it also just basically balances on the top of the glass portion. However, the top of the glass does have a slight groove for the cap to sit into, versus the bottom of the glass that is smooth and only balances precariously in the bottom. I do wish the bottom of the glass was grooved a bit to make it sit a bit more stable in the base.I could see this product as a gift for an adult, but I would not recommend it for use with children around, since it doesn't seem well-made or well-balanced, not to mention how hot the liquid inside gets. And then to boot, if it does fall and break, crack, or leak (even while off), the substance inside requires special clean-up, and sounds like it would be very bad for children to come in contact with.

I love this lava lamp! It arrived well packaged with no damages to the product. Is is smaller than typical lava lamps which makes it great for smaller spaces. I love the blue color of the base as it brings so much color into my room. When its on I could sit and watch the glitter float around all day. Its so pretty and makes the area around it sparkle. It would be great for a kids room!

This lamp is the true glow up! With all of its sparkly splendor, it really lights up the night! I really am a glitz enthusiast, so having a lamp of this caliber automatically defines my space. Elegance, pizazz, total fun. What a compliment for completing a vibe!

OMG!!!!! I say OMG!!!! 😍 This lava lamp is so freakin' cool! 😎 There is not one thing that I DON'T LIKE about it. No, wait, that's a lie.... I can't run it for 24 hours a day 7 days a week due to safety concerns stipulated by the manufacturer. It states that you shouldn't run it for more than 10 hours at a time. Bummer.... 😢 It's really hard to stick to that.... but, I'm doing it.BTW, the pictures, on Amazon, don't do it justice! It's so much better in person! It's just so sparkly.What I love:The color (baby blue).The glitter type of Lava.It's SUPER sparkly.The amount of time it takes to start working once you turn it on.Watching it work WHEN you turn it on.Putting it together was very easy .... well sort of.... I have 3 inch fingernails, so it took me some time to screw in the lightbulb. But, if you don't have fingernails, it should be totally easy for you. I know it will be! 😊The directions are clear and succinct.It comes to you well packaged.It is very reasonably priced.I'm getting one for every room in my house! 👍 I mean it I am! 😍 I am 52 years old and this is my first lava lamp but, it sure won't be my last!😊I highly, highly recommend this product in every way possible! 👍🙌 I think this little lava lamp is the best invention in the world! You really SHOULD GET ONE for yourself. I just don't know how you could ever be disappointed with purchasing one of these.
