Great Books my 6 yo son
My son loved this being read to him. Language is nicely descriptive but not flowery, so he could understand what all the words were. Great story and some nice messages in there, without pouring it on too heavily. Ordered the rest of the trilogy after reading it

Island in Danger
The Wild Robot series is one of the best children’s books I have read. Though it is written in the style suited for young readers, it is enjoyable for all ages. The first two books were about how Roz fell off a shipment of robots and found herself adrift on an island of wild animals and how she come to forge bonds with them, despite being treated with suspicion and hostility at first. The gentle Roz also fostered a lost gosling, Brightbill, and their relationship is so realistically and sensitively portrayed that they showed you that the closest familial ties need not always be determined by blood. In this third book, what the animals call the poison tide threatens not only the wellbeing of their island, but that of the surrounding oceans. Brown does a fine job of showing how all land, sea and air life is connected, and that when the natural environment is in danger, we need to work together in a concerted effort in order to survive. In order to protect their island, and also stop the poison tide from spreading, Roz sets out on a journey to the north in search of the Ancient Shark whom she thinks will be able to stop this disaster. Her journey is fraught with danger, but with the more durable body she is given in the second book, she is able to conquer the elements and unlike the other animal life, the poison tide does not affect her.Despite the exciting quest, the parts that moved me most were the understated feelings conveyed in her changing relationship with Brightbill, who is no longer a gosling, but has grown into adulthood. I felt a pang when he found a mate, Glimmer, and told Roz he was going to nest with Glimmer.I really enjoyed this book, and though there were fewer moments that tugged at the heartstrings, unlike the first two books, Brown’s nuanced writing conveyed the story in the most moving way, and Roz would be a character that I remember for a long time.

An excellent third instalment…
… to a fantastic series. So glad to see the series getting a lot of love after the release of the film. Tackles some grown up topics in a child friendly, accessible way.

Love these books
I read these books with both of my children when they first came out. My youngest asked for this from Father Christmas this year. We haven’t read it yet, but it looks amazing

Just a great book
This is a great book in the series. The day that the wild robot has been made into a movie (that hopefully captures the feeling of the bike) shows what an engrossing story it is. My 10 year old son loved every chapter but the story is entertaining for parents too and helps teach about the environment, families, the meaning of love and family all with a futuristic but familiar feeling.
