Fitting my lifestyle
Five stars? Four stars? I think after using the device for a bit what I'm realizing is that it can be a useful tool in my arsenal, but also I can't expect it to solve all my problems. Sometimes in meetings, typing notes on a laptop is frowned upon - I can use a notebook and transcribe later or find another path. The ReMarkable seems to work well as a middle ground. Writing notes by hand, and then converting later seems to work pretty well -- 95% -- whether I'm using ChatGPT or doing conversion via the device itself. I still need to verify the conversion either way but it's much faster than transcribing my notes. The weight of the device is excellent, so much lighter than my iPad Pro. There isn't a backlight, nor is there color, but I haven't found that I need either of those things. Writing is clear and the device is responsive and not laggy at all. The screen refresh is something you get used to and not detrimental to enjoyment of the device -- you slowly grow to understand what actions will result in a refresh, and expect it. Battery life is amazing, of course.

Great organizational tool for schedules, meeting notes, quick sheets. Calendar
This is one of the best ways to organize your notes, and keep them in one place. Absolutely a game changer.

Really good option w/ a small kink or two
Received this yesterday and started playing around with it. So far, it's pretty impressive. I installed the Remarkable2 app on my phone as well, so I can sync them and if I'm at the grocery store, furniture store, or anywhere, I can still open the documents from my Remarkable2 and don't have to carry it around w/ me all the time. It's easy to use. Setup is easy, but wouldn't say it's totally straight-forward. Takes some time to figure a few things out, but then, what tech doesn't have a bit of a learning curve. As of now, the only thing I can say that isn't great (could be my poor handwriting) is the convert handwriting to text option. I created a list in my handwriting and it converted about half of it and got a few things wrong. I am going to play around w/ this feature and see what I need to do in order to convert 100% of my handwriting. I haven't messed w/ any of the other competitors, but know someone who has the Boox notepad. They like it, but said if the Remarkable was the same price as the Boox, he would have preferred the Remarkable.

A cautionary tale: My worst tablet purchase and an even worse support journey
I purchased the reMarkable tablet expecting a premium experience in digital note-taking. Unfortunately, it has turned out to be the most regrettable tech purchase I have ever made. This is due to both the faulty product and the cumbersome, disappointing customer support that followed. The core issue: Shortly after I began using my reMarkable 2, I discovered that parts of the screen were completely unresponsive to the stylus. It made handwriting frustrating and the device essentially unusable for the main reason I bought it. I reported this to reMarkable support, who processed a warranty claim and approved a return. The warranty replacement experience: Following all their instructions, including resetting, carefully packaging, printing DHL labels, and shipping internationally from the US to Hong Kong, I finally received a replacement. To my surprise, this was a refurbished unit. Even worse, it had the exact same unresponsive screen problem. After weeks of effort and waiting, I was back at square one. The accessories disappointment: It became even more frustrating. I had mistakenly included my original stylus and folio in the return. At first, reMarkable insisted that according to their policy, these would not be returned or replaced. This effectively meant they would keep my accessories without compensation. After multiple emails, they eventually agreed to process replacements. But even then, they sent me a lower version of the stylus than the one I originally purchased. This was an unacceptable downgrade considering I paid for the higher-end accessory. Months later, still no value from my purchase: To this day, I have never been able to properly use my reMarkable for the purpose I bought it, which was reliable handwritten notes. Between defective units and a drawn-out, poorly coordinated support process, I have ended up losing time, money, and still do not have a device that performs its basic function. Why am I posting this? I am sharing this not just to caution other potential buyers, but also to prompt reMarkable to take this seriously. If you stand by your product and your promise of a “paper-like experience,” you should also stand by your customers when things go wrong by providing fully functional replacements and by ensuring your support teams do more than quote policy. Perhaps I was simply unlucky. However, the entire ordeal has left me regretting this purchase and unable to recommend it to anyone.

Simple and elegant
Suddenly became the envy of everyone at work. This thing is easy to carry, a joy to write with, and elegant but simple in its interface and general ease of use. Highly recommend

Great product for the price. No issues, and it came quickly.
I have researched the death out of tablets with paper-like feel for years. I finally pulled the trigger on the Re-Markable as it appears to be the best product out there. I am not disappointed.
