Surprisingly powerfull
For an 18V drill this is amazing, goes through brick like butter with 8mm drill bit (much faster than an ordinary hammer drill). Chiseled up crazy paving buried in the ground (don't ask) with pointed chisel just fine. I absolutely love this tool as its light and handy with real power. Need a few batteries if you have a big job on. Low vibration and fairly quiet for an SDS chisel machine. Still you need wear PPE including ear defenders!

Excellent heavy duty drill for masonry work
I have an older very heavy corded SDS drill that my father left to me and I needed to put some ventilation on a brick shed in my garden, at a point that was about 8 ft above ground....the thought of using the heavy drill in combination with a newly bought 200mm concrete core saw bit (that weighs more than a drill) did not fill me with confidence.Long story short, bought this drill after some research (I have recently been impressed with other Makita cordless power tools I've bought), oh my, it does it's job and then some. I expected that one battery would not do the job (which held true...very heavy load boring 200mm 6" tube of concrete), but second battery still had 80% power when done, all in about 20 min job. When it came to drilling the screw holes for the vent covers...I honestly laughed out loud, 20 seconds for 4 x 2" holes in solid concrete brick.Oh, if you are a DYI guy like me and still learning, SDS+ (which this drill is) is backwards compatible with standard SDS drill bits, I was able to use older bits for guide holes and fastening plugs with no issue. The newer SDS+ bits just have a better grip and torque efficiency. It is pricey if you add on the £70 addition of a battery, but once you start stocking up on your Makita tools, the batteries are interchangeable, but you can always get battery converters from other suppliers to convert one tools battery to another.I would highly recommend.

Incredible power
I don't leave reviews very often, but I feel compelled to on this occasionHaving just moved house, am faced with a large number of DIY projects, and all of the walls in the house are solid plaster and brickwork. This SDS drill goes through bricks, concrete, anything like a hot knife through butter. In chisel mode, it makes short work of creating new power socket recessed etcUnbelievable tool. Worth every penny.

Seems fine but chisel action is weak
Bought primarily to drill holes through walls and hopefully double up as mini jackhammer as I have a small wall to break up. Sadly, for the latter, kinda useless. So I cannot give 5 stars on this occasion. Maybe I was expecting too much from a battery powered drill. I have no frame of reference so please assume my opinion of it naive.

Lightweight and reasonably powerful for its size.

Very nice
I don't usually buy my power tools on Amazon, but I couldn't ignore the price here.Goes through masonry like butter. If you forsee drilling a lot of concrete or masonry, these are pretty important.
