Columbia Men's Triple Trail Shell

It feels durable and it does an excellent job stopping the snow and wind even in gusts 60+ mph. I've worn it on a few winter hikes in NH and my only complaint is that the zipper tends to jam. I talked to Columbia about this problem and they advised me to buy some zipper lubricant and try that. The zipper lube improved things enough that I'll keep the jacket but my confidence in it is a little shaken. It's not good when you have to take your gloves off and use both hands to finish zipping your hard shell. If it weren't for the zipper problem this would be a 5 star shell.Sizing: I usually wear a medium jacket but I ordered this in large because I tend to wear it over multiple fleece layers. When I'm layered up it fits pretty good. The arms are a little long but that doesn't really bother me.

This jacket is nice and warm but not enough room for my husband to wear anything other than a shirt underneath. He has other Columbia jackets and this one fits much smaller.

Kept me warm and dry during the 1-2 hours I had to be outside.Was wearing a fleece jacket as 1st inner layer.Midlayer was a Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket.This shell was excellent protecting from cold wind/ rain/snow.ORDER a size LARGER. Needless to say, this shell is the last part of your layering system.

It's the fist time I buy a Columbia product but I don't think their cut fits the athletic body type.The jacket runs very tight under the arms on me. It is uncomfortable. If you're a v-shape kinda guy,it might not be for you. Going a size higher wont help as the jacket is then too long and the sleeves too.Apart from the cut, it's a great jacket.

Nice shell if it fit better. The sizing is a small. I returned it for the next size up and it fits and works great.

I bought the Columbia Men's Triple Trail shell and it has been excellent in all kinds of weather. Ever since I bought it, the weather where I live has been in the negative. The Omni-heat inside of the coat has kept me warm even with just wearing a short sleeve shirt. The Omni-tech on the outside of the coat has been excellent repelling rain, snow and ice while the water-tight zippers keep the moisture from entering inside the jacket. The hood fits over helmets for skiing and snowboarding. The cuffs are velcro and adjustable. It is very light-weight and durable. It has two zippers on the main zipper so when it gets too hot on the slopes, you can just zip the bottom one to cool down without having to unzip the whole jacket. It's the best Columbia jacket I have ever owned and I've owned 8 Columbia jackets now. I feel like the sizing is right on for me, but I guess it depends on what you do and how many layers you plan on wearing underneath. I doubt you will need to wear multiple layers because of how warm the coat will keep you even with just a long sleeve shirt underneath. I highly recommend this jacket!
